I am in a situation to where I need some advice and I hope that I can get some good answers.

Here's my situation: My mom has not had her drivers license since 1999. We only have 1 vehicle to use as a means of transportation. My mom has been the only one working since 1999. I have only worked a total of 8 months since 1999. I am getting tired of sitting around the house or doing chores around the house. When I do work I will only work full-time. I will not resort to working part-time. This has put a damper on my personal and social life. I don't have a girlfriend cuz I have no business having one since I am unemployed.

How should I go about handling this situation?

Print off some resumes and get out there and try to find a full time job.

I don't mean to sound like a prick, but that would be one way to get some $$$ in your pocket, and it will get you out of the house also.

This isn't going to work cuz my mom works from 2PM to 10PM.

And it's also going to be hard to find a full-time job to where I can work from 2PM to 10PM.

No, I've always worked full-time.

I know but you're not currently working and you're wanting to get back into the work force right?

There are jobs out there that you could work with flexible hours around your Mom's schedule.

Is car pooling an option for her?

If you wanted to work at an earlier time say 0730 to 1630, maybe someone else could take her and you could pick her up.

Ok, but I will only work 2nd shift jobs.

There is nobody else to take my mom to work besides me.

Having a girlfriend has nothing to do if you have a job or not. If she likes you she is not gonna care if you have a job or not... :)

Best of luck... :rose:

Thanks, but when I have a g/f I don't want to have to worry about if I can afford to buy her things.

What's preventing her from getting a license?

I think my mom will have to pay for high-risk auto insurance before she can get her drivers license back.

If you can't get out of your driver duties,
if you can't live on chores, loneliness and boredom,
if you can't find a full-time job in sync with your mother's,
if you can't make a living self-employed,
then you'll need to adjust your attitude and accept a part-time job.

That will never happen ok.

Do you live that far out that you or your mother can't take a bus somewhere?

Do you not know somebody that will be able to give you or your mother a drive into town?

Is there nowhere within walking distance that either of you coulden't work?

Just trying to offer up a couple more options

There are no buses just cabs and my mom will not pay for cab fare.

We have some relatives here in town but they are too wrapped up in their lives.

We live in a small town of about 7,500 people and we live on the outskirt of town.

OK, here's another solution. Next time you take her to work, drive very slowly so you arrive late. If you keep doing this, eventually she will lose her job and you'll be freed from that obligation. Then, you can get a full-time job and support the both of you.

At 20 years old I am not yet ready to take on that responsibility.

20 years old, hm? A town of 7,500?

Do you have a college degree? If not, what prospects do you have to go from sustained unemployment to a full-time job?

A town of 7,500 must have a strip mall or two. A large building with many offices, or even a fast food joint. You could be a full time janitor/custodian, become a full time burger flipper, a full time cashier at the local corner store, or pharmacy. Even in small towns there are full time job opportunities.

Is a high school diploma good enough?

I won't work for minimum wage and I will only work in a factory.

Do you think someone this stupid actually exists? I still think Clitfucker is a regular Lit poster pulling all of our legs. :D

It's a good start, It'll probably get you a part-time job.

Part-time jobs are a good way to start as well.

With only a high school diploma I highly doubt you will be able to make much over minimum wage, much less in a factory.

How much money are you makeing now? Little to nothing? So the way I see it is even if you work for minimum wage, you'll be makeing more than you are now.
