I need an editor

Hello, I thought, I would bite the bullet, and realize I need help. I love writing, I really do, I have long resisted the idea of having an editor or getting help, but here I am, asking for help. I have written a small starting scene of a short story, but I'm not sure if I have anything, there. I have been a great fan of many of you. I do not know you personally, but I know your work, and I love it. Now, I want to contribute after reading for a number of years, but, I realize with out help, My stories will be brutally attacked. So, I'm asking for help.
