I need an editor for a novel

Hi, I’m looking for someone to edit a novel I’ve written. It’s in a first draft condition and it’s rather long.

But before I do I’d like to ask a few questions. First of all I understand that I am not to submit work not for this site. But what if I want to publish after putting it up here?

My second question is this, have any of you ever worked with a blind writer? I ask this because there are going to be issues of spacing and other formatting problems that I’m not able to handle on my own. Is this the correct place to ask for such assistance?

The length will limit the number of editors willing to help. An idea of the genre would help to attract an editor since many of us only do certain types.

That is not a problem for Literotica and you retain the copyright. However, publishers tend to dislike accepting manuscripts which have been available for free elsewhere.

I do not know the answer to that. I have worked with blind colleagues in an office environment so I understand some of the problems. There they just wrote the words and someone else formatted them.

Thanks for your reply. The novel is about a half human half vampire named Terra who is struggling to discover her past and the dreams and feelings that haunt her. She is aware that she isn’t human, but can’t understand why the vampires want her dead to. As she and her lesbian cop lover discover more and more about her past it becomes harder and harder for her to keep up the life she’s built in the human society.

I know this story idea has been beaten to death over the last twenty years or so, but I think my story line is a new twist on an old theme.
