I'm relatively new to the General Board. I'm vaguely aware of some common lore, but could use a primer.

For example: Someone faked their death then came back? LT? Is that Jacquelope?
Who is AJ? Cap'n Amatrixa? Why AJ? Old username?
Some GBers are married others? Huh? Who?
Some people's alts are well-known. This could be a whole primer in itself, but who is who is who?

Can you give me a GB-for-Dummies history lesson--not least of all so I can stop wandering unarmed into psychotic people's threads?

I can't say for sure. I believe they, at least, both, have quite a few alts. At this point, though, I've had Cade on ignore for so long, that I can't really compare his posting style. And Beco's disappeared, again, right?

Lejack was originally LovingTongue. When he decided to change his name, he started a thread, claiming to be a friend and announced that the Lit member known as Lt had died choking on peanuts, while on a trans Atlantic flight.

This was supposed to be a joke, or prank as he called it, but no one thought it was funny. He had already told the world that he and his wife were traveling to Africa to adopt an infant. The prank death left everyone with the image of Lt's wife, holding their new baby, while she sat beside his dead body for the remainder of the flight.

He still can't understand why no one thought it was funny.

The story of AJ is not nearly as dramatic.

I spent maybe ten minutes thinking the Drown thing was conceivable, primarily because around the same time I saw Drown's Nola thread and the vibe kinda felt like you for some reason. Otherwise, why anyone would think you would use an alt is beyond me.

drown and i live fairly close to one another so we make similar references and, probably, to a certain degree have similar on-line "accents". and, sometimes i post in verse that sorta but not really resembles his.
