.....the silly threads are all gone today and the board seems lifeless.

The pissy people who keep calling for serious threads are not posting when people have posted serious issuses, I guess the threads are all over their heads.

I will go back to my lurking post now and hope the people that have made me enjoy the board come back soon.

People might have paid more attention to this thread if you hadn't assumed a schoolyard "I know you are, but what am I?" attitude.

Just because I enjoy serious threads does not mean that I don't like silly ones. I loved Dixon's "worst song" thread, which in no way, shape, or form was serious. I just don't like pointless threads.

I would love it if someone would explain the value of those to me. If it's just to touch base with your friends, there are chatrooms and email and the phone. The bulletin board is not anyone's personal playground. It belongs to a group and should not be overrun by a few kids whining, "It's a free country, so there! Nyahh!" and doing the equivalent of screaming so loud in the movie that no one else can enjoy it. (Sorry for the mixed metaphors.)

Also, just because I enjoy serious threads does not mean I enjoy ALL serious threads. Some things interest me, some things don't. So even if the BB was full of nothing but serious threads, I wouldn't post on all of them. There are only a few people who feel the need to post on everything.

Lastly, I've said it before, and I'm saying it again. Often, writing a good post takes some thought. So, while the board might seem as if it's "lifeless," there might be several people in the midst of composing something of value and interest.

If you want instant gratification, try the TV.

Since I just spent the last 24 hours worrying over the perils of a special lady driving this weekend from S. Carolina to Pennsylvania (she's waiting until next week), a comment on the Wizard's weekend party may be in order ...

You guys are gonna be housebound and off the roads for days.

That MAY give yet another meaning to out with the old, in with the new .... damn, wish I was there!
