Did you read thay they're mapping the Universe? NASA is working on mapping over a million galaxies (discovering the olargest structures in the Universe, collections of Galaxies spinning together called Super Clusters). Very soon a new earthbound telescope will be build which has the ability to filter out the intereference from the atmosphere, and will be 100 times more powerful than the Hubble. We can already look back in time to 12 billion years ago -- with this new telescope I wonder, I just wonder, if we will be able to glimpse back to the moments directly after the Big Bang itself.
