well I bought 50 navel rings from a wholesaler yesterday, and tounge rings as well. I have cornered myself into either getting my piercings done, or starting a body jewerly business. I am such a chicken, but I'm gonna do it. what i would like to know is, whether it would be better to get them both done on the same day , and combine all the bitching and nerves into one session. anyone know?

I vote going into the body jewerly business myself.

Your body is perfect the way it is.

Well, maybe a belly button piercing is a little sexy.

But leave the tongue alone. Mat, Lou and Gauche have a hard enough time understanding your accent without that.

You can do it, plus the government has great loans for women starting their own businesses. :rose:

you know I was only half kidding on the business front, I want a novelty shop. I hope that by the end of the spring 2006 I will have enough stock of T-shirts body jewelry and other fun things to start on a weekend flea market shop, and internet business, I would like to do well enough to have a store of my own in the next 3 years, there is a market for it in this area , and no one is supplying the needs. I think lately I have started to DREAM BIG. I like it too :D

You know when you make an offer, I actually take it to heart. I don't know what to say hon, Thanks so much , and I will take you up on it when the time comes, of course that means a big shoppers discount for you also :D I remember who helps me along the way.

That can be discussed. I am also a good organizer and administrator, if you need help. Helped build a small 2./4 car lot in a mini trailer into a 60M a year business and in a 1M builiding. I'll always help if I can.

With many things, I'd say go for both at once...but bellybutton piercings can be a bitch, and so can tongue piercings. The belly ring I only had very briefly - pierced it myself at 13 and it got infected. Just never had interest in redoing it. But I had my tongue professionally pierced twice, and it didn't turn out well either time. The first time I bit the barbell and it tore my tongue - the second, my tongue went numb and I took it out because I was afraid it would stay numb if I didn't. Now, none of this is to say that tons of people aren't perfectly happy with well-done and well-healed tongue and bellybutton piercings. It's just that both require lots of care during healing (even more so than most others) and I'd say you'd be better off getting one done at a time.

Damn, I'm long-winded this morning.

I agree, do them separately.

I've only had my bellybutton done, and it required a lot of care, and I've heard that tongue is ten times worse in terms of that. That way you'll be able to pay more attention to each, the nerves probably won't be as bad when you get the second one either. Good luck!

Haven't had my tongue done, but having my belly button pierced was a breeze - lots less than the cartilage in my ear - LOTS.

Just keep it VERY clean (antibacterial soap 5 times a day, at least), and try to keep your hands off it. I changed the ring in mine after two weeks.

but then, I also fell asleep while I was getting my last tattoo....

I have had both my Belly button and my tongue pierced. The Belly button was worse for me than the tongue b/c I was a little bigger than most and I had trouble letting it get air. It was also pierced wrong, and I was lied to about piercing through scar tissue.
My tongue was easy b/c your tongue is the quickest healing organ in your body. Also, there aren't any nerve endings in the center of your tongue so the actual piercing is easy. The reason there is pain is b/c all the tissue around it swells. Also if you do the tongue, make sure to rinse your mouth out with Listerine like crazy. I did it every 15-20 minutes. Another thing to remember, is don't take too many anti inflamitories.:) I made that mistake and my body shut down and I went through Renal failure. I wasn't even taking that many, it was a dosage I was given by the physician, but my body couldn't handle it.
I am a big one for doing all things painful at the same time, so I would say go for it so the pain is over quickly. I don't; however, know your pain tolerance. Everyone is right that they are both very high maintenance piercings until they heal.
