... but right now. I need to go get my Speedway coffee (refill...as it is cheaper, well insulated and doe snot contribute to MORE styrofoam pollution) with LOTs of additives (cuz I am a sissy coffee drinker and must contribute to my fatty belly!).

AND then haul out a gazillion tools and continue re-decking the neighbor's front porch (speaking of Squirt's latest video post.... tongue in groove) while the weather "cooperates" (a bit). each board has to be custom cut to fit the stone wall... ack.

False weather "alarm"...that woman told me that there was a tornado warning and that severe weather would hit at 3:30.....

prior to that, it looked like most probably thunderstorm stuff would hit around 6pm....

Was all packed up before 3:30....... nuthin'

Not sure I would have finished, but would have been much further along.
Now all showered...and inertia has taken hold.

Coming along....s-l-o-w-l-y. ~3/4 done

"deck" as in flooring for a front porch. "L" across the front and half the side of their house. The joists are original (about hundred years old.... and a bit funky in construction.... The owner asked about permit and inspection. apparently, no need for inspection if only replacing the deck......hmmm. ok.
I DID reinforce it with new lumber, and she is happy to lie about that. "nope, all original!"

I can only work on it occasionally.

Speaking of your remarkable body of work, I heard an interview with Lynda Barry, the cartoonist , last night on NPR, regarding the power of images and how to get people to start drawing and stop worrying about if their work is "good".

She told this story about how she had gotten to the point where her imaginary characters seemed to become her main peer group, and one evening she got very sad that she would never actually meet these people in her drawings. But then, she woke up the next morning and realized this was not actually a crisis at all, because she had just been drunk the night before. She laughed and laughed, along with the interviewer.

She also marveled about how worked up people could get about something that she drew on a piece of paper, to the point that they would hate her or want to harm her.

Overall, I got the impression that she drew images to explore her psyche.
