I just got my cat back from an extended absence with my aunt because of a few reasons but mostly to do with housing. He's a great little 5 year old long haired tabby named Satch and I missed him terribly. He's been back for a week and I almost forgot how he:

*even sleeps with me when I'm sick
*doesn't care what I look like in the morning
*pays attention to what I do like it was the most interesting thing in the world
*is a true individual with his own personality likes and dislikes
*misses me when I'm gone

Any cat owners who want to praise their cat in public? Why do you love your little guy or girl?

JP is very good at waking me up when I have a definite appointment. At any rate, he won't let me sleep past 7:00 a.m. because I would miss fixing his breakfast, which just doesn't happen in any household he runs.

When I am reading something he doesn't approve of, he sits on the book.

He keeps the premises free of pests. His titles include "Bane of birds, scourge of rats, slayer of insects," and he's earned each one. He leaves the barest minimum of remains, so mortuary duty is fairly light.

He gardens. He sits in the middle of his catnip bed -- somewhat the worse for wear after winter -- and stares at it. In a few weeks, the catnip flourishes. He then lies in the middle of it, keeping an eye out for mentally deficient intruders.

He is a masseur of some ability, affectionate to a fault, and sleeps between my knees every night. He's a great friend and companion, loaded with attitude, and I'm so glad I fell in love with his oversized ears when he was a kitten.

We have four cats. I love it (well, I hate it, but I LOVE it) that they wait for me to wake up in the morning, follow me to the bathroom (they sit at the door waiting), and then meow me all the way to the kitchen because they are hungry. I think it's hilarious when I don't feed them right away. The most vocal cat sits on the food and whines.

Then there is my sweetie. She waits for me to get home from work, sits at the door to my bedroom and whines for me to open it...then follows me in and snuggles with me for a few minutes before I have to hop online to check my mail...at which point she entwines herself in my legs until I'm done. :) I love my kitties.

My cat will only sleep with me on the coldest week of the year. Which is pretty common with zots. But he gets me up before the sun each day by tickling my face with his whiskers. His favorite game is chase. He sleeps from 1pm till I get him up at 7pm. Unless I take a bath, then he'll wake up just to watch that.

Satch has huge ears too. He's a small cat for an adult, only 9 lbs about a pound of that is probably fur but he's got enormous ears. Actually I think they might be normal sized but he's got a small head anyway. I rescued him off the street when he was only the vet thinks about 8 weeks old and he almost died he had such a bad case of worms but he didn't and he's healthy now. He almost seems to know when I'm down or sick and he'll be extra affectionate then otherwise he likes to be by me but he doesn't really like to be held that much.

Secret has me trained very well. I am up by 6:30 every morning to fix her breakfast. She keeps me company when I work on the computer & helps me by typing with her paws. She isn't very big, but she is half persian so she is fluffy. She is waiting by the door when I come home from work & does guard duty by the bathroom door to keep out intruders. When I go out of town, my mom comes over to stay with the "grandkitty" so she doesn't get too lonely. She is the baby of our family & has us all wrapped around her paw.

I just love my kitty. Don't know what I'd do without him. There's hardly a day goes by that I don't lol at something he does or some look on his face. He's got food and water all the time so he let's me sleep. When he hears the alarm go off or me begining to stir, he'll jump on the bed. He's getting kind of old (12 1/2) and is suffering from some kidney failure, so he isn't as active as he used to be, but he's the brightest spot of my day.

I just love my cats period{I have 4 cats}I have 3 purebreeds, and 1 rescued...a Bengal female...a Singapura female...a Somali {longhair}male...and a black and white male of mixed ancestry that i found in Eygpt. They all have their own personalities, and are truly a joy to watch...and yes, they all sleep on the bed with me at night.I swear they all seem to weigh a ton at night..hhahahahahaha

I think I'm going to have to agree on the loving cats issue. <chuckles as she notes the "virgin" title beneath her name> Ahem. Yeah, well I have 4 of the little buggers myself, all rescued. The eldest, my little boy, is a 13lb whopper of an orange tabby. The next is a color point shorthair mix, she's got the build of a siamese and the two together resemble Laurel and Hardy. The two youngest are almost negative afterimages of each other. Same build, both long, slick textured, fluffy hair, there the resemblance stops however. The male is black with green eyes the femme is white with blue eyes. Neither have an odd colored patch of hair anywhere on them. (at least not noticably!) One of the very few unfortunate things about them is that they all like to sleep on the bed, spoiled little brats. So as always I end up spending a larger portion of sleep-time worrying about smushing a cat. Another, the hair. Oh the money I'd save on vacuum bags if I just tossed one or two of the little fuzz-factories outside. Then again they all have their unique quirks that I have become all too accustomed to. A creature of habit I'm afraid. There are times when I find myself watching less of my television and more of my cats.

The big one, bless his fat heart, is more of a shadow than just a companion. His mother turned him away, merely a runt then imagine that. So of course I weaned him, and nursed him to his big-boned and healthy present stature. In turn he trots around the house constantly underfoot. Sometimes he dares to think that he can join me in the shower with out getting so much as a drop on him. There is one thing that has puzzled me about the large boy's growth. His body swelled up like a Macy's parade balloon, but I'll be darned if his head, ears, and paws didn't stay the same size as when he was little.
