I love driving fast and the place to do it seems to be Ontario.

Last week dr. blue and I drove to and from Toronto on Hwy. 401. The speed limit is posted at 100 km/ hour. That's a bit over 60 m.p.h. for those of you that don't understand Canadien.

Well, after reading the posted fines for speeding, I figured I would play it safe so I started off at about 65 m.ph. All the cars flew by me. At 70, they still flew by me. So, I got behind a truck that was flying and sped along at about 80 m.p.h. until I were passed up by a car going about 85 m.p.h. I followed that car into Toronto. Btw, this was on a Thursday with plenty of cops on the road. And radar detectors are illegal.

On the way home on Sunday, I started off at 75 m.p.h. and then as cars passed me by, I pushed it up to 80, 85, 90 and even 100 m.p.h. while other cars sped along in front and behind me at similar speeds. My average speed for the 250 mile return trip was 84 m.p.h. What made it even better is that I drive a BMW 330 xi. It was like being in heaven.

Toronto was fun, but the trip there and back was funner. And I thought that traffic moved along well in Metro Detroit. Those Canadiens sure like to drive fast.

Just because you got away with it once doesnt mean you allways will.
Welcome to Canada where the speed limit is just a suggestion.

I think you'll find that...

the speed limit only applies to people on horseback.
