School's out for the summer!


Eight weeks vacation for this one.

THis is my first year wiht a Job, I don't care about the missing break of 3 months in the middle.

I have enough of a break sitting in the house with a bum leg for over a year.

I'm pretty much retired, so everyday is summer vaction. I think we'll go down to the river today and swim with the fishies...

I have some errands to run and then taking the children to the beach.

I am moving in a couple of weeks, so the timing is perfect to put all that together!

Not as lucky, I'm takin summer courses at uni! Thank gawd I got Lit for a break in my studies, what a stress releaver!

Classes have been out for a month now, with another two to go before they resume.

But I'm still working--sort of--on various projects of my own.

Still, MissT, I think my mother was right when she told me that there were three good reasons to go into academia: June, July, and August.

I am just as lucky. Out for the summer, three months to regroup. In a job that I love so much that I don't even need the time off anyway! I also teach - Psychology classes.

Our last day of school was May 24th. I have a couple of Staff Development Classes this summer and an online course. Other than those, i don't have anything i have to do until the first day for teachers on Aug. 6th.

This is the first summer that i've been able to completely relax since i started teaching.

Damn, summer's only started and I'm already waiting for the school year to begin again. I swear I'll go insane before September. I forgot what it's like to have 4 kids running and screaming around my house 5 days a week.



On the plus side, I can always send them outside to play. Now if I could only figure out how to convinve them that I don't really live here and don't need to care for them, things would be much better.
