...and right now I'm sitting outside, and there's so much fog in the valleys below me that all I can see is a blanket of white reflecting the moon.
It's very pretty. Shame I don't own a camera that can successfully capture this!
Soon I'll have to go drive through it as my daughter has been in labour all day  Here comes a 30km/hr trip!

I am at the hospital with daughter now.
Gonna be a long night (it's 1am right now) and she's only halway there after 19 hours of contractions.

Congratulations, WQ! I'm glad you're in a hospital and not some log cabin or something.

When I was in the astronaut program, one of the guys' wives had labor for 73 straight hours. When the baby finally came out, it was a full-grown male accountant from Russia whose wife and family had reported him missing in 1952. It was in all the papers. Very unusual case, but it can happen.

Don't you have one or more of those fancy tablets/phones that can take pics? You know, like the one you're going to use to take pics of the full grown baby accountant?

I walked the Overland Track when I was there.

Y'all have some impressive hills.

Are they alive with the sound of music!

Babies are so cute! Best of luck. Is she doing it natural or with the meds?

Daughter is doing really well - just gas so far.

I'm sitting in a corner of this massive delivery suite, wondering why I never had access to birthing stools, fitballs, and a bathtub when I had mine!
Things have really changed.

I hope that they have changed for the better.

Best wishes for an easy birth for your daughter and grandchild.

0600, Friday 3rd August (about 45 mins ago), my daughter delivered a healthy baby girl :)
Both mum and bub are doing well. No idea on weight etc yet, as they do 'kangaroo mothering' here and leave the newborn with mum until after the first successfull feed and then do all that.
I am officially a Nonna!

I am almost as exhausted as my daughter is! Two nights now with no sleep... I am functioning on autopilot (have just arrived home after a very careful drive - probably shouldn't have been driving at all).
I will stay up just long enough to cook something, and ring and cancel all my appt's for today. Then bed!

Oh, and during the actual delivery, my daughter was wrenching on my arm so hard that I felt my bad elbow 'pop'. In a bit of pain now. I won't tell her though.... she did an awesome job, no drugs apart from gas for an hour or so, and the baby is a little over 9 pounds!

Edited to fix typo.... Baby weighs 9 pound 2 ounces.

Just over 8 pounds is a nice bass.

One of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen were the blooms of sensitivity plants covered in a fog and dew...

PS - I kinda know what you feel as we recently spent several days in the hospital after Princess' appendix burst...

Oh, and I know how THAT ^^^^^ feels - mine burst on the hockey field when I was 13!
I can still remember the pain :(
