I know you don't care BUT...

Thank-you Tiggs.

I just wanted to share our Holiday with all of you, I know we're not as old as some countries, but this "IS" our Birthday, and I wanted to share it with all of you.

Thanks again Tiggs :)

Blimey! (Is that how you spell that?)

How would we ever know unless we had you as our great lower continent contact.

Bless all Kangaroo's every where.

And wave you flag proudly.

Are there parades where everybody's dolled up in stocks, chains and stripes.

Ummm not that I'm aware of anyway, although that would be pretty cool wouldn't it.

And entire parade....

Where everyone dressed as prisoners, little bears, shrimp or Crocodile Dundee.

Bet the fucking beer is flowing in the streets there!

I'm sure it will be but it's only 8 in the morning, so not just yet.

Or an Entire Parade Where everyone dressed as prisoners, little bears, shrimp or Crocodile Dundee.

By little bears I assume you mean Koala's?

Hi Nicole!

Happy Australia Day to you. Is it a national day off kind of holiday or does it have a historical significance?

I should yell at you for saying we would not care. Your a Lit member and I do care.

Breaking into a chorus of " Waltzing Matilda "

Happy Birthday Australia .

Have a great day Nikki and damn I wish my great , great , great grandparent's had been deported :) .

Yes it is a Day off, but it's also the Day that Australia was founded, so it's pretty Important to us.

I'm sorry but you gotta admit that 97% of members are from the USA, and I don't really like to put pressure on you to know our Holidays.

I just wanted to share our Countries festivities with you all, as you ARE such wonderful people.

Oh and Gingersnap, thanks babe :)

Andy so do I babe so so I ;) hehehe, thanks babe, and hugs for you.

You Aussies are lucky. I wish our country had been colonized by convicts and y'all got the Puritans.

Now when will Peter Garrett become Prime Minister? I would like to see him wrestle George W. Bush.

Thanks everyone, oh and BeeBeeBlue, it's only 10:45 am in Adelaide but the day has been good so far :) Thanks for asking.

Ron you're not the only one that would like to see someone like Peter Garret in the Prime Ministers job, we all would, better than John Howard anyway.

Happy Aussie day.

Oh, and a koala is not a bear, it's raccoon with a downer addiction and other, other white meat.

Must be Australia day, we are kicking ass in cricket again, now not to many VB's nikki!

And Australia Day is nearly over so the cynic can add her five Australian cents. It was a SPLENDID day today. Almost a heat wave. Great in the shade on the beach though. It's just a pity, that it had to be a day which is significant for Australians of European origin but which actually marks the genocide of entire family groups of Aborigines. I wish we could call today Reconciliation Day, but that would mean we have righted the mistreatment of Aborigines which we haven't. Sigh. Such a beautiful day. Such tragic problems.
