i know this one is GONNA hurt ............

For some reasons a lot of piercers pierce navals with 16 gauge needles...which is silly. It heals much much faster if you go with a 12 or 14. 14 is probably your best bet because it leaves a smaller scar, and most naval jewellery comes in a 16; the jump from a 14 to a 16 is a lot less than a jump from a 12 to 16, so should you decide to use 16 gauge jewellery once the piercing heals, it will fit a lot more comfortably.
i learned the hard way with my nose piercing, in my opinion, for myself .. bigger IS better.
Thanks.

Make sure to invest in some low rise pants so that the piercing doesn't rub against the material, particulary if you have a job that requires you to bend or reach a lot.

Mine took well over a year to heal.
Panst could become an issue, i've thought of this, yes. Lucky for me, Master has recently purchased at least a dozen pairs of low rise jeans & pants for me. A couple of pairs are the lowest i've ever seen, with 3.5 inch flies/buttons etc. They WILL come in handy.

my job DOES require much bending & reaching. It offers great benefits, many perks, and is full time, and then some. my job is to serve Him. ;)

Uhmm<blushing>

Would some of you more experienced folks discuss clitoral hood piercings? How do you know which side of the clitorial hood to pierce? In all the pics I've seen, it's always off center. Is their special training for this? How do I find a reputable (REALLY EXPERIENCED & REPUTABLE) piercer for this kind of piercing? How painful is it? And does it really enhance sexual pleasure? Guys, does it interfere with clit sucking for you?

While you are at it.. as for nipple piercing, don't the rings interfere with the pleasure of using nipple clamps?? Can you pierce through the nipple or is it always just behind the nipple?

Ahh, I see. Then wearing pants really won't be much of an issue at all. ;)

I have had my navel done twice, and can honestly conclude that the actual piecing hurt far less than the healing process.

Yet another reason not to have my naval done. I take about three times as long as the average person to heal, cause I'm on two different auto-immune suppresants.

Question: How long do nipple piercings take to heal? I'd ask my doctor, but he's my uncle. I really don't want him to know that I'm gonna get my nipple's pierced.

you don't pierce the side. You jsut have enough skin there that they tend to hang to a side your anatomy picks during healing. Most of them should be straight whether verticle or horizontal. hood piercings are actually some of the easier piercings. you jsut need someone who knows whether your anatomy is correct.
it's immence pain for a split second, then it's over. it was the easiest thing on my entire body to heal. I thought it enhanced the feeling for me. some people talk about desensitization, but that's not really waht hqappens. You are just hightened sensitivity for a while then you get used to the barbell, you don't loose sensitivity.

The nipples are actually quicker to heal than the navel, but if you are like me and cannot go without a bra for a while, I don't recommend it. The material will irritate the piercing, cause pain, and take longer to heal, similar to the problem I spoke of earlier with belly piercings and pants.

Also, if they get infected, you are stuck with deformed nipples for the rest of your life, and it will hurt like a mofo to remove the earring because the skin begins to close up around it.

I personally don't have this done, but a lot, if not most of my friends do or have had it done in the past. There really isn't special training for it, pretty much all piercers know how, because it really isn't a hard piercing to do. From what I've heard, it's around a 7/10 on the pain scale. And it does inhance sexual pleasure...but it makes things awkward. A lot of girls complain because it's always there. The main complaint I've heard is that alot of girls who get it done is that for the first little while (I'm not sure if they just got used to it or something) they would orgasm from just walking up and down stairs. Even though that really doesn't sound like a bad thing, if it happened too much, or in the wrong setting, it could be pretty bad. And cleaning is a bitch. And you can't touch it for a month and neither can anyone else. And the only real problem with clit sucking with someone with a piercing is that you can bang your teeth if there is still a ring instead of a barbell and that kind of hurts...not that I would know...

I had to change my masturbation technique completely after my hood. Hard habit to break. Love it now. Micro vibes are my bestest friends.

I'm not sure if you'd be able to get it over the piercing...but maybe the nipple shields they sell for nursing mom's might help. Then a person could wear a bra with their new piercing and have it protected from rubbing.

Excellent suggestion!

On a side note, it reminded me of something someone once told me. Not sure if there is any truth to this, but they claimed that after you pierce your nipples, you will never be able to nurse again. No idea why.

if they're pierced properly, nursing won't be a problem

Stretching or Repiercing?

What about stretching a prior navel piercing?....I have not worn jewelry in mine for a few years....*lifts shirt, looks down at belly*....and it looks to be still open but tiny though :)
I'd hate to get it repierced after so long (or have it look screwed up because of it).

Anyone ever had theirs stretched or repierced? Thoughts? Experiences? Suggestions? Ideas?

Thank you so much :)

See if you can get small jewellery through. If it hurts, don't force it, that will do more harm than good. Try using lubricant or something (not vaseline not vaseline not vaseline!! ky works pretty well though) to get it through. If it won't go, you would probably have to get it re-pierced. The second time hurts more because of scar tissue, but it's still really not bad.

Well, it's moot point for me. I got my tubes tied. lol That's why I waited so long to do this. I wanted to be sure that I wasn't going to have any more kids.

I've always been rather enticed by the idea of a tongue piercing. I'd probably go for that one first, but that is only because I think I could handle it more than the nips, and it apparently heals faster. Let us know how it goes if you do decide to proceed.

You mentioned something about having to be on a particular medication due to your immune system, so please be careful and make sure you have done plenty background research on the place you are considering. I could tell you horror stories about my first navel piercing all because I failed to do that.

Oh, I'm planning on it. And frankly, with all this about them taking forever to heal, I'm gonna check with my remicaid nurse at my next appointment, and see what she says. I know that when I stubbed my toe really bad (almost had to have stitches) she was really freaked, cause sometimes people on remicaid don't heal.

I have a bad feeling that I'm not gonna be allowed. :(

I'm waiting till I'm done having kids too, though if I could find a piercer that could do it correctly I might consider getting it done next year

My only hesitation is that I like to sing, and I have noticed that people with piercings seem to talk like they have a speech impediment afterward.

Perhaps its just part of the healing process, or size of the ring.

you can nurse after having your nipples pierced, you just have to be careful about mastisis (spelling?)
healing my nipple piercings were actually easier for me with a well padded bra.
i don't know much about togue piercings, i just cut mine in half. My s's are a little bit hissssy now, but nearly everything else is fine and dandy.

i was innocently using Google's Image search while searching for examples of jewelry for belly button piercings (just to see what is available). My amazement with what i find with Google will never cease. This has got to be the oddest photo of a piercing that i have ever seen ....... HAD to share it.

Now there's something you don't see every day... I'm thinking this is a good thing. :D
