This is really strange. For the past couple of weeks I've been hot. I've also had a headache that gets stronger then weaker the stronger but never really goes away. Wake up in the sweat soaked sheets, can't stay hydrated. Constantly tired. WTF?

Could that be from not drinking alcohol?

And no, I'm not going to the doctor. They keep trying to cut my gall bladder out of me. They act like it's having a wisdom tooth pulled, like it's no big deal. Fuckers!

We're going to have to amputate your cock, Betticus. Sorry, we looked into all the options.. this is the only way to cure you.

Episodes of fever, tired (muscle weakness?) and headache can be indicative of viral infection... encephalitis (thinking West Nile, Lyme Disease or, as you are in the SW, hantavirus), mononucleosis..etc. Go get a CBC with a differential white count done...at a DOCTOR!!

Encephalitis?
Result of recent surgery/trauma

No recent trauma or surgery. Unless you can count the having the cat sprint across me whilst asleep the other night.

Are you going to be mad at me forever?

uhmmm maybe you feel that way because you need your gall bladder removed?

Why don't you come fist me and check that gall bladder out for me. Maybe you could massage it back to health. ;)

I don't like doctors.

if that is what would please you, sir. :p

Not really. I'd rather cat burglar sneak into your house in the middle of the night and secretly replace your regular coffee with folgers crystals to see if you notice the difference.

And put a thumbtack on your chair.

Cock nurse: a female who understands the healing power of oral servitude and deep completion. Deep nose-in-the-crinkly-pubic-hair completion, with coughing breath.

"I don't like doctors" , either. I've been having all those symptoms for years; I keep hanging on, somehow. All I need to do is go to the doctor and get told that I'm actually sick instead of just permanently under the weather. I think I'd give up--better not to know.

Not a nurse, and don't know what the exact issue with your gall bladder is ... but, ...

i do know that gall bladder problems which include disease and/or infection many times will present the possibility of a burst gall bladder, which would then certainly be a MAJOR medical issue.

Certain symptoms indicate that there is a higher risk of danger and require immediate medical attention. These include:

Fever
Sweating
Chills
Jaundice
Yellow eyes
Yellow skin
Persistent pain
Clay-colored stools ("Light Colored Stools" or "Pale Stools")

Constantly feeling hot (feverish?), headaches, night sweats soaked sheets, hydration issues (excessive thirst?) & constantly feeling fatigued are common symtoms which point to SOME type of infection. Perhaps your present issues are not even related to your gall bladder concerns, Betticus. Regardless, you SHOULD see a Dr.

i don't play games with my health ... If i had a screwy gall bladder, it is not something with which i would take chances. Were i experiencing signs of a possible infection,
i would not put off seeing a Dr.

If you got a cat it could be toxoplasmosis , it has same symptoms of a slight flu and most of people don't even notice when get it . A simple blood test could tell you if is that .
Hey.. but I am not a nurse so take it for what it is .... a nighty babbling :) :rose:

Betticus, please go see the nasty dr. I know you don't like them, but you're taking a serious risk here, and the majority of us would rather have a healthy grumpybutt Betticus than a sick grumpy butt Betticus.

You don't like a doctor . . . do you prefer death?

Believe me, no one dislikes doctors more than me. (Well, except maybe Netzach.) Unfortunately, they're a necessary evil at times. If you put off finding out what's wrong you could end up IN THE HOSPITAL instead of seeing a doctor for 30 minutes. Do you wanna guess how many doctors you will have to put up with at the hospital?

I love doctors and I hate insurance companies.

If I had more time I would probably be seeing so many specialists it would be like a full time job.

Dude! Get a referral to a sleep medicine specialist! Those are some of the symptoms of Sleep apnea! At least the headaches, nightsweats, and constantly tired are typical symptoms. The reason I say sleep medicine specialist (usually a Pulmonologist or a Neurologist, but can also be an ENT or a general practitioner) is because they are familiar with a wide range of sleep disorders (if you can't sleep well you do feel constantly tired). They can also say if having a polysomnogram would be helpful in diagnosing your problem.

I would suggest asking for a polysomnogram just on pronciples alone if they haven't done one yet - there are oodles of good information they can get from it (heart rate, breathing rate, how deeply you are sleeping, etc.) and get a better picture if that is an avenue to start you on therapy or medication.

I have sleep apnea, I use a Bi-level Positive Air Pressure machine (its a nose cone that just fits over my nose attached to a small machine that blows filtered air to keep my throat open at night - I love mine!) and the difference was amazing - it did take some time to recover - but within nine months I felt back to normal - and that was after having fallen asleep while typing at work (cringe - I am glad that they understood it was a medical problem and not a staying up too late one).

Sleep apnea is not the only disease that sirupts sleep - there is also Periodic limb movement syndrome and a number of others.

Sleep apnea can also cause things like enlarged heart, and cardiac arrthymia/arrest due to the build up of carbon dioxide in the blood (i.e. needing to pump more blood to get enough oxygen).

I'm not a nurse, just a biologist who has been through this and researched the heck out of it. I really can recomend getting the full polysomnogram done at a sleep clinic for a full night or split night study (they put you on a xPAP study for the other half of the split night).

(PS: after I was diagnosed, my brother went to the doctor and went for testing - he has it too)

Surprisingly not as many as one might think. More than you would by just going to the doctor's office of course. But mostly it's the nurses and orderlies you have to "put up" with.

Putting up with nurses... what a horror!

Believe me when I had toxoplasmosis I noticed it! Fever, aches and pains, headache, and a couple days later a rash that started at my face and worked its way down to my feet. I was on partial disability for three weeks. We had cats but they did their business outside, I wasn't cleaning a litter box. I didn't do gardening or anything that put me in contact with cat feces either so it's a big mystery how I got it. The good news is that I won't get it again :)

Betticus my Master hates doctors too, but as graceanne says they are a necessary evil if you want to stay alive ;) While you wait whatever you have could be getting worse, and take 10 times longer to recover from than if you had just gone when you started to feel unwell.

P.S. My father had his gall bladder removed many years ago and he lived to tell the tale :)
