sometimes romance novel heroines tick me off. The book I am reading the heroine jokingly responds when her brother asks her what she wants for her 30th birthday she wants the family vacation spot by the beach and the handsome male model that is in the magazine she is looking at. Well of course the family is rich and when she arrives at the vacation suite the male model is asleep in her bed. She is very sick though and he nurses her back to health. Now he wants a kiss and she won't kiss him and now they are just going to spend the rest of the time in seperate rooms of the suite. KISS HIM. You don't have to go all the way but KISS HIM!!!!!!!!!

I'm sure she will cave and slip his pulsating manhood between her ruby lips.

I could make that wish on my birthday and would probably find the his picture cut out of a magazine on my bed at Motel 6 along with some porn movies.

She's already insulted the fact that he is "old" (he's 39) and that he has done nothing with his life. Were his parents embarrassed. WHAT????? You're right he'll still want her and they will live happily ever after.

Unless you're locked in the bathroom of a twelve year old girl, why read romance novels? They're assembly line literature. There are so many better things to read, especially with the internet. Do you want the link to Maus? You can read it online without downloading.

Oh please - romance novels are escape. I read other things but real life is tense enough. I suppose it is like those that watch soap operas. 20 years later Sepheno Demara is still trying to bring down the same family. Plus if you get interrupted or lose the book you can always know that the couple ends up together and lives happily ever after.:rose: I guess I am locked in the bathroom of a 46 year old girl.

Soap operas are even worse. At least romance novels don't cause cerebral vegetation.

Here's the link to Maus, anyway. There's no escapism.

can you kiss me? :)

*STICK TONGUE OUT*

Sophie's choice was hard and Schindler's list. I can't even imagine having to go through that. Corrie Ten Boone tells a story of her life that is compelling. I just wanted a no nonsense thread about romance. The holocaust kind of killed that.

BACK TO ROMANCE?????? Do men like romance?

it all depends with who...

Do men like candlelight dinners? Romantic strolls in the park. Hidden kisses in the rain. I have limited experience here but it seems like once they know they got you that goes by the wayside?

It turns into

Do my laundry
Cook my meals
Clean the house
Have my kids

and then maybe a quicky:rolleyes:

I like all that, and more, and tend to try to keep it from fizzling out.

But I do value good domestic services, too.
