A 1/2 hour tarot or palm reading in a quarter auction. I figured for a 4 quarter bid, I was bidding on a plot bunny, if nothing else.

Thoughts?

ETA: I also won a reflexology session.

Bunnies everywhere.

"Ah, my dear, I see you meeting a tall, handsome stranger. . . ."
:)

Don't piss off the fortune teller. You might end up cursed, with such lovely side effects including one or more of the following:

- being rendered invisible
- turned into a werecreature (arousal sucks when you turn into a bunny whenever you get horny)
- you're cursed with magical attraction or repulsion (everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY you come across either wants to do you or kill you in the most drastic way possible)
- some important event in your past has been altered (goodbye desk job, hello trash gathering)
- money you touch dissolves into dust

that's what my brain delivers when thinking "fishy fortune teller" Feel free to use anything that piques your interest.

Record and transcribe your session. The bunny will hop right in.

Congrats on the win!:nana:

Okay, well feel free to drop by when ever you have the time and I'll read you and test your flexology.

It will take a good bit longer than thirty minutes though.

:D

The palm reading? Well I'm sure we can work out something involving palms.

Go for the palm reading. ½ hour of tarot isn't enough, and plot bunny wise, a story about a card reading isn't as suggestive or sensual as a story about a fortune teller touching and massaging and tickling your palm as they detail what each line means and what they see in your future

That's helpful. Anybody have a different viewpoint? Just for the sake of exploring all the options...

(I was wondering if 1/2 an hour gets you past a cup of tea at the door.)

That serves as a good warning to stay away from things I don't understand.

Don't stay away from things you don't understand... just ask a whole lot of questions about it from people that do.

I'm still learning the Tarot. Every card has a meaning and every meaning can be reversed depending on how the card is facing when it's turned over.

My own card "The Hanged Man" represents life in suspension but contentment with it being like that.

All in all with a Tarot reading enjoy the show, and the feeling of giddy nerves that comes with one and just think about what is said. In the end it's random chance and the "readers" interpretation.

But just how random is the random? That's what draws me to it.

I'd go for the tarot card reading. Tarot readings can be long or short - as short as simply drawing a single card.

Aside from the reading, there's the cards, too. While the basic design of the cards is relatively standard, for example, you'll always have a hanged man - the actual artwork can vary. Maybe it's an all nude deck? I don't know, I just think there could be more plot bunnies running around a deck of cards, that's all. Congrats on being lucky!

Heh. It goes father than that, of course. Many pro-readers stop using reversals because the meanings aren't just "right-side-up" meaning vs. "reversed"—they're everything in-between. The reversals are useful for getting the idea of the range of the card's meaning, but once you know, you can tell which one it might be—and anything in-between—from question, spread position, and the other cards.

My own card "The Hanged Man" represents life in suspension but contentment with it being like that.
Not just suspension, but being up-side-down, out of sync with the world at that moment, and able to see it in a unique way because of that. One of the more interesting things about the Hanged Man is that it was originally called "the traitor" as traitors were hung by one foot. But even more interesting is that way the card has come to show an admiration for those bold enough to "betray" the norm. To see things in a different way and sacrifice themselves for different ideals.

In some decks it also relates to Odin who hung up-side-down from a tree for nine days, and, at the end, saw the runes and knew what they meant. When the Hanged Man comes out of his sacrifice and suspension (and he always does if the card is upright), he has gained wisdom that can be used to enlighten others.

All-in-all, a cool card. :cattail:

About the palms- after the tumble I took last night, I'll have to take a rain check.

I studied Tarot reading and as everyone else said half hour is not enough for a really good reading but it should give you the highlights. I find palmistry can be a bit too hit and miss.

Congrats on the win!! I will be expecting a mystical story involving a gypsy curse or some such from you in the near future.

The hanging man can have multiple meanings but a life in suspension works as a description. I wouldn't have coupled it contentment though. I guess each reader and student imprints some of their own thoughts on their decks as they learn. The trick is the find that deck that works for you best. I never enjoyed the traditional Oswald Wirth design and went in the end with a mythological design that spoke to me more clearly. I know a man who designed his own deck but that's a story for another day...
