I just saw Moulin Rouge!

Not Quite Straight to Video

Did you like it?

It affirmed for me that I think Pink sucks on MTV

I really did like it. Got me all teary eyed at the end, and laughed my ass off over the Like a Virgin piece!!!

OMG! I just saw it tonight. It wasn't the worst movie I've ever seen, but damn close! Just awful. We couldn't wait until it was over. I kept asking to shut it off, but my husband said to wait, it might get better. But he was gritting his teeth while he said it! LOL

NS my husband calls it a low grade version of the Rocky Horror Picture Show.....Would of been alot better if they had oringanal music.. He says" Then again what can compare to the rocky horror picture show:p

Hey!! I happend to like Moulin Rouge quite a lot.

And as far as even comparing it with the absolutely awful, dreadful and utterly tasteless movie "The Rocky Horror Picture Show".......well that just shows that some people dont know what style and taste really is! :p

I thought the cinematography, sets and costume design were amazing! It had quite a bit of humour as well. It was the scripting and love story that left a little to be desired, but can you honestly say you've seen another film like it before? It was worth the price of admission for the opening scene alone.

a real musical classic and certainly quite unique.
i hadnt realised it would be sooo funny , neither did the audience
i laughed out loud at the love songs medley on the elephant fantastic sets
the only decent piece of australian cinematography [other than mad max and priscilla queen of the desert]

I have to agree with Xan here, Moulin Rouge was a good movie. NS, NSW you two shits, neither of you even sat down to fucking watch it, so your comments should be stricken from the records.

April, its alright, we all know you have no taste. Hahah!

Blushing Rose, the love story got to me, course I was drinking beer too... I think it choked Xan up to...

So what if the music wasn't original, they knew when and where to put it. Damn it. And honestly, have you ever seen a rendition of "Like A Virgin" that was so FUCKING funny?

I thought Moulin Rouge was an excellent movie..... well not up with the top movies that I have seen but I know that I would like to see it again. Everything about it was well done and the two lead roles were well done.....

In short, Damn good movie!

;)

My daughter and I watched it earlier this week and we both rolled our eyes in the beginning because it was a little slow but it captivates you and we both decided we truly enjoyed it by the end of the movie. Nicole Kidman has a tremendous singing voice which surprised me a little.

And the dance scene done to the song "Roxanne" was awesome. I really enjoyed that.

I am not as a rule a big fan of musicals but I definitely give this one Phantom's seal of approval! :)

I finally saw this last night and....

WOW.

I loved it.

Truth, beauty, freedom, love...

The music was brilliant. The story - the dream - echoed deeply in me. It was wonderful.

I seldom see a movie, any movie, more than once. I'm ready to see this one again.

I know a lot of people who liked this film, but I couldn't take more than about 15 minutes of it.

Had to turn it off and put in old videotapes of Richard Nixon press conferences during the Watergate era. Now that's entertainment. . . .
