I know that feeling, actually. I am working on an Idea at the moment, getting into the serious business of making it function and structure itself properly, and like you I am afraid to say too much about it. I don't want to curse it ... and I don't want to have to explain myself if I can't make it work.

It's tough. You want to tell all the world, but that voice in your head says, "shut up, just shut up!" Or want to suddenly touch the keys here that will... then it says, "Stop it stop it, don't touch!"

And I know that I have to listen to that voice, because if I do talk the SO's ear off and spill the entire thing, I will never write it. I will have told the story, and I will be too lazy to tell it again. I know myself. I can barely push past having gotten it all sorted out for my own understanding and get on to a draft.

Yep.
This Idea I at least wrote and submitted before blabbing about it. Just waiting, waiting, waiting... but even that is dangerous because of the temptation (that I succumbed to with this thread) to over-advertize.
