Well, I've been shaving for a few months now, and since I have sensitive skin I get razor bumps really easily. My local Target started stocking Magic powder so I bought some and tried it. Mixed the paste, put it on, left it for 7 minutes, and....nothing. Not a hair was removed. :(

Could it be that the hair was already short, like 1/4 inch long, maybe even a little shorter. Does that stuff work on hair that short, and if so where might I have fucked up?

I tried it too, was okay, but didn't remove enough hair to make it worth while, and yes, I was doing it right. And tried again and again. Then I got talking to a gal in the aisle, as i was reading the other types of Magic. Blushing, I hope it wasn't someone here now that I think of it.
Anyways, she has tried it too, and her hair is too coarse and wirey. Now I never thought of it as coarse and wirey but hell. Since this stuff wasn't working I guess it must be. Or else I am a dingbat and am doing it wrong.

try the pre-made lotion..

don't know how you could leave it on longer than 6 minutes.. does anyone else get a chemical burn on..uh.. down there?

Has anyone ever tried Epil Stop (SP)

I keep seeing that commercial and I was wondering if that worked

1) Magic lotion, not powder, is my favorite.
2) Hair can be any length at all.
3) Follow directions! Did you use a spatula to remove it?
4) When did you start timing the 7 minutes, from when you started to put it on or from when you were finished putting it on? I apply and time 6 minutes from then. That makes approx. 9 minutes total since it takes me 3 minutes to apply.
5) No, I don't get chemical burn. I don't leave it on too long.
6) Don't use soap to wash it off (follow directions!)- use clear water in the shower with a wash cloth.

As we venture into the realm of too much information.... :)

My hair, um...down there...is course, but isn't that sort of normal? I'm caucasian, as white as they come, blond hair and green eyes so it's not like my hair would be as course as someone of African or Hispanic descent, and the stuff's made for black men so I don't think that can be the problem to start with anyway.

I'd shave and try epil stop but even after I shave I have stubble because I can only shave in the direction the hair grows or else I really suffer.

Maybe I'll "grow it out" and try again.

Cheyenne you posted right when I did...I timed from when I was done applying it. Yes, I did use a spatula, and no, I did not get a chemical burn either.

I don't want to even mess w/ mixing powder and water.. I love the lotion.

The more I use it, the easier and faster the hair comes off.. if I wait a few weeks or more between, the hair gets tougher and takes longer to remove.

The weird thing is.. I can only leave the stuff on the 'lips' for about 4-5 minutes before they start to get irritated. (Nope, I don't get it too close to the inside) but the top part take 6 or 7 minutes and I've never had any irritation.

The best part.. no razor burn/ bumps and it grows back soft and not itchy.

I am not putting anything micro-nuked near any part of my body I value so much. :p
