I'd like to take this early morning (at least here in the back-of-beyond of Alberta it is) opportunity to greet all of the new arrivals to the forum that I've missed.

Hello to all of you. I have been kicking around lit forums for a while. I used to make the Story Discussion Circle and the AH my stomping grounds. I think the point where I began to favour the Poetry board came when I discovered the Same Title Challenges. These are wonderful ways to explore subjects that you may not normally write about and the challenger might even get an occassional form from poets who "--don't do that sort of thing." So, keep watching the threads for these STC's, newbies.

I can't mention all of your names here in welcome, since I don't really know who you are! If you get a chance, post a Hollah back, won't ya?

HOLLAH!

Good idea. I've noticed a lot of new people, too, and I don't really know most of them.
So, Hello!
And happy holidays, Carrie. :)

I am also remiss-- I seldom venture into new poems beyond the reviewers' recommendations, and rarely read the "intro" threads. But I just read Stella Omega's intro and then read his/her sonnet about band practice and was pleased to find it.

Welcome, SO.

How kind!

I found your welcome, flyguy, because I thought i'd do a search for the word "sonnet" in this forum.
What a nice thing to read, first thing in the morning!

Oh, you- you wrote a lovely little PC to me, and in tracking you down- I found this forum. :)

Hello

I'm very new to this discussion board and Lit in general. I mainly spew out a few lines of stuff when I'm stressed or see something I want to record but don't have time to write it all down.
I'm not good at revisiting my poems to clean them up and they tend to be what they are. Some silly, some sad, some find a bit of life and love.

Thank you for the kind words and welcome from LeBroz and Erotic Tale.

Stella_Omega, i was tempted to say something like... does this mean i have my very own stalker now? finally? after all these years? :D

and then i realised that would sound very unlike me and more like annaswirls or flyguy. ;) JUST KIDDING YOU TWO!!!

so, welcome aboard and i'm very glad you came along. i did enjoy your Sonnet and i hope you write more poetry. :)

Stalking... It's a tempting thought... ;)
I did write a second poem, it's linked in my siggy. In fact it was the first one- the one I worked harder on. And therefore, is not as fresh and enjoyable, IMO. But- it's the seed of a project, and that's why I'm here...

Very Merry everyone. I love to see flyguy spots :: on the hollah thread, and Eve and WSO, too. It feels good to say hello.

Welcome MnRider and Stella. I've seen both of you in the sticky roll call thread. I was hoping to attract more. Fly? Put up the shirtless AV will ya? That seems to work as good as fly paper ;), eve's panties and wso's cleavage. C'mon newbies. What have we got to do to draw yas in? Nudity? Oh my.

oh come on you can't see that much you know. the other photo had another button undone. :D often less is more, y'know. ;)

Nice of you to extend a greeting. So many writers here have open arms and kind words for newcomers.

It gives the place a homey feel.

Thank you, champagne, and everyone else.

oh... does comeback have a different meaning in your neck of the woods?

i was meaning clever retorts.

:)

Ahh.. I thought you meant all the people who have been in remiss coming back :p

I'm tired :D

Hello poets. :)

You'll like it here a lot. If you have questions, ask them--you'll get answers. If you want feedback on your poems before you officially submit them, just make a little noise about it and you'll get some. Wicked Eve and Lauren are the forum moderators, but there's a tradition here of people helping one another. Most are here because we love writing poetry and we want to learn and grow together. Some people here are more about praise, others want (and want to give) more critical reviews--critical in the sense of making editorial suggestions that may improve a poem. There's pretty much a place for everyone to find his or her niche. Or make your own. That's good, too.
