Dear friend,
This letter may come to you as a surprise due to the
fact that we have not yet met. I have to say that I
have no intentions of causing you any pains. As you
read this, I don't want you to feel sorry for me,
because, I believe everyone will die someday. My
nameis Mr mike smith , a merchant in london, but taking
treatment now .
I have been diagnosed with prostate and esophageal
cancer that was discovered very late due to my
laxity in caring for my health. It has defiled all form of
medicine and right now, I have only about a few
months to live according to medical experts.
I have not particularly lived my life so well, as I
never really cared for anyone not even myself but my
business. Though I am very rich, I was never
generous,
I was always hostile to people and only focus on my
business as that was the only thing I cared for. But
now I regret all this as I now know that there is
more to life than just wanting to have or make all the
money in the world. I believe when God gives me a
second chance to come to this world I would live my
life a different way from how I have lived it. Now
that I know my time is near, I have willed and given
most of my properties and assets to my immediate and
extended family members and as well as a few close
friends.
I have decided to give alms to charity organizations,
as I want this to be one of the last good deeds I do
on earth. So far, I have distributed money to some
charity organizations in the U.A.E, London and
Ireland. Now that my health has deteriorated so
badly,
I cannot do this my self any more. I once asked
members of my family to close one of my accounts and
donate the money, which I have there to charity
organization in Bulgaria, they refused and kept the
money to themselves. Hence, I do not trust them
anymore, as they seem not to be contended with what
i have left for them. The last of my money which is
the huge cash deposit that I have with security firm
Abroad .I will want you to help me collect this
deposit and dispatched it to charity organizations
and let them know that it is I mike smith that is making
this generous donation. I am writing this from my
laptop computer in my hospital bed where I wait for
my time to come. I pray for you to support and
assist me with good heart.
be blessed my beloved,
Mr mike smith .
please if you would help me realise this, i will
appreciate your reply in my very
confidential email : mikesmith_charity@walla.com

Being a computer geekgrrl with more than a passing interest in computer security, I find this email very interesting. Different bent, different locations, same bad English.

This is the Nigerian Swindle in different clothes. Stay away from this.

And be afraid. Very afraid.

They are mutating their scam. I now get ones on my RL email account which has my last name as part of it, where they say they are looking for someone to pretend to be the next of kin of someone with my last name, that has died in their country.

First I've seen of this version. Interesting...

I'm sure I'll get one soon saying the Dr. Jedidiah Bare has been killed in a car accident.

Hey!

God told me I was his vessel!

That's just a line?!?

Bad God! Bad God!

Sincerely,
ElSol

I got that one! It was for a Mr. John Jraven that had passed away.

Some of them are quite amusing.

People have died apparently, having fallen for these scams.

Oh, come on Vella, all the Lord wants is your social security number and bank accounts. Is that really too much to ask of His favorite vessel?

Ah, you're crazy! All he wanted was $5000 in earnest money and I'll get that back when I clean this sucker out!

Charity Schmarity! Ha!

Confined to a hospital bed? Oh, Mary!

Terminal cancer of the top and bottom? Well, he won't be able to put up much of a struggle then, will he? Like taking candy from a baby!

I'll see you rubes on the French Riviera!

Opps! Wait! There's the wife of the former oil minister of Nigeria on the other PC! Got to toddle!

It's important to note that his cancer "has defiled all form of medicine."

I sent him my social security and checking account numbers, so he can have full access to my wealth.

Now he's really screwed.

:D

My real question is how do these things work? I mean, they must, they keep coming up, but who on earth is that naive?

It's a simple numbers game. They send out 100,000,000 of those emails. (Yup, that many at least.) 99.9% of them end up in spam filters. That leaves 100,000 that are seen by humans. Another 99% of them are then immediately tossed. Leaving 1000 that are considered and thought over. Another 99.9% are not stupid enough to fall for it.

That leaves 1. And that one is scammed for $15,000. Enough to buy 10 more rounds of 100m emails...

I don't hate people. I just think they're all idiots.

Right now

I have about six letters on file..I send them back to each other though a junk hotmail acct. Trying to think of the website..right

Got some time to kill? some very funny stuff!

Actually I think you're all being very unkind. I actually felt very sorry for that nice Mr. Smith. It must be awful for his family. If he'd like to send me details of his bank account, social security number and assorted credit cards, I'll send him some money right away.
Maybe then the lord will look on me favourably.
Chris

Oh sure, you get to be the Lords vessel, all I get is a email from eBay wanting to confirm all my credit card info... and my address... and my social security number... or I'll be banned for LIFE!

Interesting how it got sent to my Literotica email and not the email addy that I use for my eBay purchases.
