I have a question for the Brits...

It seems like so many Brits love Indian food. I'm curious to know why. I mean, I like Indian food, but it's not my favorite food, nor is it something that I could eat all the time.

Don't get offended for the generalization, but I've come across so many people from the UK who love it.

Indian is not the only fascination.

In our small town we have Indian Restaurants, Chinese, Portugese, Thai, French and of course British.

Sadly, we also have McCrap and K Fucking C and a really bad Mexican (although there are good Mexican restaurants within driving distance)!

We did once have a restaurant owned by a Texan but he was so generous with the portions and the cognac that he went out of business!

Indian food is, obviously, due to all the immigrants. Wherever there are Indians or Pakistanis, there are restaurants serving their fantastic food.

Although they are so popular in the UK becase, after the pubs close at the archaeic hour of 11-11:30, you can get a curry and drink illegally at many Indian restaurants.

I think Coolville has the answer... It's because the (generic) Indian people would work any hours to make it, and they bought their delicious spices with them. Not too sure about the illegal drinking though... You could just drink later in restuarants under the old drinking laws, now you can drink when you open your mouth.
There has always been certain 'machismo' thing going with the hotter curries, and by Allah, they can be hot, so hot that you get a double burn. (You get the second burn the next day)

licencing law in England give anywhere with a restaurant licence the legal right to serve alcohol till 12.30 (i tink its that anyhoo, if not its close) also, interesting tit-bit, (this was true at least until a few years ago) a restaurant with a liqour licence can serve alcohol to a 5 year old. i forget the specifics, but im pretty sure that spirits anrt allowed...

I can cook authentic tarcurries, everything under the sun...all the ladoos...nastha food too. i cook italian too.

Onlu thing that can fill a desi guy/girl are italian or indian food unless it is thai with rice ...chapatis are great too ok
