Gods I hate moving. The packing, thecleaning, the packing, the sorting. We have filled half a dumpster with things we have decided we could do with out. (How does all this stuff acumulate?)
We move on the 27th of this month, and have been packing things up for the past week. It won't be a horrible move like our last one. (We lived in a tent in southern Florida for a month then.) It is still a pain in the ass though.
We did get quite the deal on our new digs, paying less for more square footage, and we even have a fenced courtyard. (Privacy for once, yahoooooooo.)
Even though the new place will be much nicer than anything we have lived in before this, the packing and sorting is still a pain in the ass. We get to sort through our lives and decide what we wish to take with us, and what to ditch. A lot of memories get tossed, although there are some things which we can't help but remember. (That pair of plastic handcuffs given to us by a street mime after he watched us screwing in the parking lot in ProvinceTown on our first aniversary.) How does one throw things like this out?
Ahhh well, the new place will be nicer, larger, cheaper, and has a lot of possibilities. Maybe there's a story in here.
