God, but I hate military movers. They have absolutely no regard for a person's belongings. they broke so many things that it isn't even funny. Shall I list everything that they broke?????

I know how you feel.

Yes, tell us. Might make you feel better yelling at someone else. :)
I swear, they have to be the stupidest people on the face of this planet.

No, don't list a thing they broke. HOWEVER!!! Tell them that it was a gift. Really, Mom and Dad gave that to us, Aunt June gave that one, oh yeah, and Uncle Ebert gave us that vibrator collection all ya'll broke. He's a weirdo, but we love him!

Gift = 100% compensation.
Purchased = depreciated compensation.

Kooreh?

LOL Killer, the most hilarious thing is that most everything they broke were gifts. My china??? a gift to me when my gramma Bobba passed away, my washer, a gift to me from my grandma when she died. I have an original handmade Ethiopian dress made for me when I was a little girl, by a woman we were helping out. My blender was a wedding present. And yes, military movers are the most inconsiderate movers. I swear, I could so smack them upside the doggone head

is there no insurance coverage on the bases to help to recover losses?

Oh.. i've heard many horror stories about Military movers. Not only do they break alot, they lose stuff also.

Can anyone tell me how you can lose a CAR? It was packed ever so nicely in a crate in Germany, put on a boat, the boat floated across the Atlantic Ocean... and guess what, it arrived here in the US with NO car!

We still haven't found the car, and because "they" say my husband didn't fill out the "proper" paper work, we never got the money for it either.

Batter, we have to claim everything they broke to get compensation for it. But most of the things they broke have a huge sentimental value to me.

anyone has a recommendation for a good moving company? preferably commercial movers

Just check reviews online, and you'll be able to find a reliable moving company. For those specifically looking for good commercial movers in Canada, platforms like Maple Movers https://maplemoves.com/service-commercial-moving are a great place to start. You can easily browse through a variety of movers specializing in commercial services, sorted by region, making it easy to find someone local who fits your needs.

Been there, done that (a bunch of times, involving 3 continents).
I swear some of the movers are taking bribes from local appliance shops.

So how many inventory stickers are on your bed frame?

My wife’s collection of first release Disney VHS tapes were stollen on one of our moves. Lots of broken furniture. Glad I’m retired now.
