Although, I think in the grand scheme of MAJOR AMERICAN HOLIDAYS Easter ranks pretty far down the list, way past Christmas, New Years, and Thanksgiving, but still higher than Valentines day... I'm rambling. Although Easter isn't one of the top three holidays, it's still here. And it's still depressing.

Being a nine-hour drive away from my nearest family members is a blessing, at times. Times like this, though, it's hard. I don't think I even really WANT to be visiting my family... of course, for me, 'visiting' means a week-long stay, complete with no computer, television, phone service (they live in the one place in the nation I can't make calls!) and close-confines with out-of-work parents who would love to chit-chat all day long...

Okay I'm rambling again. SUMMARY: It's a holiday. Everyone I know is off with THEIR families. I'm lonely, I miss my boyfriend, who is off doing Easter things, I don't have any colored eggs to shove in my face, and everything is closed.

WHINE.

WHINE WHINE.

Whine.

I feel better.

Trust me I know how you feel. When I was married, we always went to his families house because my family was so far away. After we divorced, my kids would rather spend the holiday with them, which was cool with me, that was tradition for them. I finally realized that I could fly down for the holidays with my family while they were with their father. I finally was ble two years ago to spend Christmas with my mom for the first time in 20 years..
This Easter their dad said no, so they are with me. We are just having a quiet day, well somewhat. Mom is exerting her authority and having them Spring Clean....Easter is just another Sunday in our house.
