Yesterday I finished writing a 3500 word story. This morning I printed it out and read through it. I like the story but I am not happy with it. There are parts that I don't like the way they flow. There are parts that I don't like the way they are worded. Now comes the fun part, making it fit with what I want.

Gods I hate this.

Editing is an acquired taste. Editing adds an edge to your arrows and harpoon....editing is what makes your point.

Oh I understand this and I do edit my stories. Sometimes with better results than others. It's just a pain in the neck is all.

I sympathize, though now I find myself enjoying the editing process a lot more. It's so much easier to shape the story when it's already there, rather than to have to make something out of a blank page.

I've actually come to dread the actual process of writing.

I can't edit my own work...my eyes are never fresh enough from the story to be able to do much beyond grammatical editing. Somebody else has to edit the content and decide whether it makes sense.
