I got my turkey thawing in a sink of cold water....you all ready to eat like piggies?

Spanikopita....

Greek Spinache pie.... yummmyyyyyyy......

Also, some gooey yummy cock sausage and pussy pie.

That is the real trick to a perfect holiday. ;)

This may sound odd, but our Thanksgiving isn't complete without
Vinegar and Oil Salad.

Yumm....YUMMMM...:) and homemade pickles....and homemade pickled green peppers...:)

Nope, no odd side dishes at my family Thanksgiving dinner. We're pretty plain meat and potato kind of people.

I'm just stopping in to catch up on the bb while I eat dinner, and then I'm off for a bit to bake my pumpkin pies. Maybe that should be my contribution, even if it is dessert instead of a side dish! I make my pie crust from scratch. No store bought shells! I hate those things- they taste like cardboard.

WOW, Cheyenne bakes......go figure

:p

Thumpie........

:p

Do you have Glazed Parsnips?

(Recipe as it was served)
2 pounds of parsnips- cut into small sticks rounghly 2 and a half inches long and no more than a third of an inch thick (Generally if you don't have more than 5 people you can cut back the amount of parsnips, but keep the amount of the other items the same)
3 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 and a half tablespoons balsalmic vinegar
2 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme (be liberal with the amount)

In a preheated oven (425 degrees) melt the butter in a baking dish large enough to hold the parsnips in an even single layer. When the butter is melted, combine with the vinegar and brown sugar in the pan and mix together, add the parsnips, tossing them gently so they get evenly coated. Even out the parsnips in the dish, and bake for 10 minutes. Sprinkle the thyme evenly over the parsnips and bake another 20 or until the same consistency a carrots when cooked to taste.

LDF that sounds interesting

:p

It's a savory slightly sweet taste. Somewhat like glazed carrots but with a more savory taste, and the thyme helps the taste keep from getting to heavy, The texture is slightly crunchy.

Darn it! I thought I had an invitation to come over and eat turkey at Siren's!
