I do feel like talking about sports today but I can't get into tennis or golf. So we're limiting it to interesting sports.

Here's a few starter topics but feel free to post any sports thing you like

1) The Al and NL allstar selections. Mike Stanton? What's with Torre's yankee bias? Why is Cliff Floyd not on the team?

2) The off season NHL moves. Who improved their team the most? Detroit? St. Louis? Dallas? Or are the stand put attitudes of Colorado and the Devils going to win out?

3) The NFL season. Who d'ya like?

EBW, TONY GAM?

someone forget to log back on?

Chiefs go to the superbowl.

I mean CSC always needs bodies right? I used to get to go every year.

Turgeon is, indeed, a real solid player. Still I can't help but think that the Stars didn't get anything near what they could have in this market. No Roenick, No Lindros or Jagr and to top it off they look like they're going in a new direction.

I think they're a weaker team next year.

AJ, the only way the Chiefs are getting to the Superbowl is if they pay what the Scalpers will be asking.

Titans vs. Saints in the Superbowl

On no, say it ain't so...

We have Vermiel (shit too drunk to spell), Green(e), the Cat, Tony Gonzales, and Lenny Baybee on HBO!

How can we loose?

How do you spell Air Coryleelll?

I loved Martyball. We gets what we deserve!

But seriously, Lamar Hunt took a gamble back when KC and Atlanta had 1.3 mil. pouplation-wise.

Now KC is at 1.4 mil and has the Chiefs and Royals while Atlantra has 23 mil (someone check my figures) and the Braves and, uh, well, let's not get mean...

PS

Don't know why,
but cha-ching
Who dat?

always had a soft spot. Maybe 'cause they hired Ditka.

Well they can lose because they have no running game, no great receivers, a mediocre Quarterback(Who could be very good) and a defense that is lacking a true leader(I feel scummy for hitting KC's chances because of Thomas' death but, well, he won't be playing)

RIP

Do not wish to speak ill of the dead...

But he had lost a step. Still a fantastic human being who despite all the laws and education, still did not buckle up. He is the reason to wear seatbelts, I am the reason not to do drugs!

KState has the toughest schedule in the Big 12 this year. I don't think they'll be in the top 10 at the beginning of the year. Maybe like 2 years ago, starting at 19 or 22 or something like that. Maybe lower without a tried and true quarterback. But they are more solid in the RB position than in years. I like Scobey. And special teams are going to be hurting this year. Snyder does have a way of dealing with that though.

Ok, NFL you are both wrong. The Saints will not do as well this year. I think this is Indy's year (even though I dislike them). I'll say Indianapolis and the Buccaneers.

But, Baltimore could be there again, who knows?

No lav, you are wrong NFL-wise. I love the Colts big three but their Defense is so bad that I'm confident that I could score thirty points a game on them. The saints have that great D, Brooks or Blake at QB(Which might be the best tandem in the league) and A Ricky Williams who has proven that he can run with the best of them and Deuce to back him up. They win 12 games this year.

2 unrelated football questions:

1)With no Steve Young, Marino and Warner looking human is Peyton Manning the best QB in Football? What is it, his 4th year in the league?

2) What will the chargers record be? They have a decent defense with Harrison and Seau leading the way, A QB who can steal games and A very promising rookie back. Is a .500 record out of the question?

True. He had lost a step but he was still the leader of that defense. He was the guy they followed.

Da Bolts

will win two games only against the new world champion Chefs, I mean Chiefs!

And KU has a new Ad! A new marketing slogan. So I assume the cats are s thing of the past,

oh, you said serious. But there's just me and lavender. And who ya gonna believe?

ME OR YOUR LYING EYES!

Ricky Williams is having issues with the Saints. This is going to be a big downfall for the Saints.

Warner will have a better year I believe.

Firstly, He is having issues with the Saints but the kinds of Issues that will resolve themselves on the field. Besides, I love Deuce. I think he was the best Back in the draft. He can do the job if Ricky can't.

Second, Warner may have better numbers but they are as much a result of his talent as they are of the system he plays in.

Every season is new

Old issues become old with the right coaching. Who has the best leadership. Yes Derrick was a leader, and yes they took on some bad apples. But they are gone.

This may still be his team in some very small ways.

My computer is too stacked out or something. I may have to reboot. I have lost my mouse!

Nope, Deuce was not the best. San Diego got the best RB in the draft. He's amazing. I've seen him playing when I visited friends at TCU.

Ricky's problems were so bad that the coach thought about releasing him for this minor league baseball shit. Ricky is an interesting fellow. The Saints had a miraculous year last year, don't think it's going to happen again. I do love Darren Howard on the defense.

As for Indy, Manning has an interesting system there. James gets tons of passes as well. Plus Manning has Harrison, who I think is a better WR than any of the WRs at St Louis. Granted their system allows them more, but Warner is not overrated.

We'll see after this year which one is better. I don't think the last 2 years have been adequate measuring sticks. I think there are some that might come up and claim the trophy though out of their hands.

We'll see about Deuce. The few times I saw Tomlinson he produced mixed results. At times he looked like he can do it all, At times he looked like you knew that the only reason for his numbers is that the WAC is such a sad conference.

Deuce, minus the injury, was a top 10 guy. Speed and power in a great compact body. If Rickey goes down and he gets a chance to play a lot, I'd put dollars to donuts that he puts up better numbers than LaDanian.

Ricky is an odd, moody guy who wouldn't be my first choice at Back but the man can run like nobodies business. Kind of an Emmett with speed. Still they have so much else from 2 real good QB's to a nasty defense to a tough OL that they could win games with Buddy Ebsen as their Featured Back.

I suppose the yardstick I use for measuring a QB's worth is how well he would do in a neutral system. I think it's fairly obvious that with his arm strength, accuracy, decent footspeed and giant size Manning could produce in any system.
