Well I just got back from the store...

With the last of the Xmas goodies it is 6 in the AM as I pack away the last few things to brighten up the next week.

I can now head off to bed for 2 and a bit hours before starting another day of work. When I get finished with that I can scamper to the kitchen to throw Christmas Dinner together, then spend a few merry hours wrapping pressies then start with Santa and the kids without sleep...

Roll on St Stephens when they can eat leftovers and I can mooch around without having to do a stroke except be happy.

Yes, you have to work. No it's not fun, but you'll be home before you know it. Let me tell you, I've worked too many Christmas Eve's. I'll probably end up working more. I'm thankful to people like you that have work on that day. For if you didn't, I may not get some things done. Christmas shopping in fact, or receive the mail that I've let collect in my box. I feel your pain. I too, have the luxury/curse of working at home today, due to end of year squeeze. Yesterday was my 1st day off this month. If I don't do my job now, some people won't get paid till next year.

I'd like to thank each & every one of you for doing whatever you do to keep the country running. I'm counting on every thing I normally take for granted..my utillities, shopping , gasoline sales ,
emergency services, financial services, If it weren't for all of this stuff, and more I'm sure I've overlooked, I just wouldn't make it to christmas. I understand if you're not happy about it. If you weren't needed, they wouldn't pay you to come in.

I SHOULD have gone to work. Instead, I went shopping to kill a few hours this morning. My shopping was done early in the season so I haven't actually been in the stores this month. I should know better than to go on the 24th! Now I have a pile of "just one more thing" gifts to wrap this afternoon for gift opening tonight (who could resist light up Harry Potter shoes for the kids though?)!

There are some really good deals out there today for you last minute shoppers- got myself two pair of boots, a sweater, a new cd (Puddle of Mudd) and a video (Shrek.) Doesn't matter what I get tonight, I just bought the stuff I wanted.

Well, you can count me among the working as well. It's a "skelaton crew" so I actually like it - I get tons of work done. (but, then, I don't celebrate Christmas so it's not like today is really special to me) We should be getting out of here shortly after lunch, though, so that makes it nice - but I have so much to do before then!

And then I get to go shopping for my boss' present! Ain't I just too lucky?

Sorry, TN_Vixen that you had to work today I was scheduled to work today! However, I decided I was not working today. I gave my boss advance warning of my intensions. If he wants my job that bad he can have it. There are times when a person has to take a stand. I work an average of sixty five hours a week. I feel that I have more than shown my dedication. If he had a problem with MY choice not to work today then he can take this job and shove it

I do have a life other than his job He has a tendency to forget that. He has to be reminded of that every now and then.

I just got home from putting in a 9 hour day & this was day 14 for me. The store I work in has been busy non stop for the last 3 hours. I went in at 5am to get everything ready for the day after markdowns & returns. I am done until 4am December 26.
