I just got over a three month spout of writers block and finished up three short stories this week. OF COURSE they got submitted today, after final touches, and now I feel like a jittery lil virgin staring at my submissions page waiting for them to pop up on lit!! OOOOOH (squeals of joy)

who wants to sit on the bench with me?

Chicklet

Congratulations Chicklet!

I'll sit with you as soon as I finish one of my own -- my own writer's block has been awful, too, but I'm feeling inspired tonight so maybe I'll make it to the end.

Good luck!

p.s. Can we sit on a sofa instead of a bench? And have a plate of chocolate-covered strawberries and bananas nearby just in case we get hungry?

Oh boy, do I know that feeling. I just posted a chapter of one of my series after a six month lapse.

Congratulations on breaking the dam and I'll be looking for your stories.

Jayne

I'm still right there with you every time a post a story.

Hmmm... that's another task for me. My goal is to have 4000 posts by the 9th of June, to celebrate that I've been at Lit for a whole year. Now, if I could submit 4 more stories, too, it would bring up my total sum of submissions to the even number of 90!

OK... where are those plot bunnies...?

Targets

Why set yourself another target? It is going to be hard enough to meet the posts number.

right beside you, almost

I haven't had writer's block, just no time and peace to write. I finally got the draft of my next story done. Edit Saturday, then submit. Look for me on your bench then.

Now, about those other 5 works in progress ( staring at the 'plot ideas' pile)

It's a great feeling! I just submitted a new one (what a relief to write something _fun_ again after weeks of doing research and real work!) and I love the excited little thrill of waiting to see when it'll turn up. Save me a spot on the bench, or sofa, or Cleopatra-style lounge ... whatever we end up using!

I'm feeling less silly on this seat of mine with everyone next to me = )

Rejection?

I worry about being rejected.

I have been, twice.

Once because I put the story in the wrong category. the other because the story was a few words short of the minimum. I had pruned that story, which was a cameo, to tighten it up but didn't do a last word count.

So, I wait impatiently for the story to be posted or rejected .

Then I wait for any response, any votes, any feedback. Usually the votes are few, the feedback one-liners and I feel "What's the point? Why did I bother?"

Then just one or two items of feedback can make it worth while.

But Chap 01 wasn't rejected but my very few fans commented: "What the **** is this!"

You can't win.

Next to you sweet one, you can always sit on my lap if you need, been there and done that too, not recently, like sirhugs I just don't have the time at the moment, the time in peace that is.

but I'll always make time for Chicklet...

(well, I'll try)

Yeah, it's taking a while right now. I submitted my latest last Friday and it wasn't until this Weds that it was actually posted. They must be backlogged.

Hmm, the bench seems full,

guess we'll have to use up all the laps.

Chicklet, I enjoy your writing as well as your voice. See the voice bits thread, I left you a penitent post.

I just had my first story posted and am waiting for the next two to go (I'm an optimist here), and just finished a fourth but will give it a few days to brew and hope the typos all get caught and the verb tenses match up.

I'm aware of all the fellas on the bench, perhaps we could do a musical chairs type play to share all those lovely thighs. (Pops, can you manage one gal per leg?}

Keep well, sweetie. your pal, Perdita :rose:

I went on a rampage and submitted three this week. Two are listed. Not too bad.

now right there on the bench, dodging seagulls.

" Watching Donna in the Sauna" went in sunday. It is the fifth ( last?) installment in the first series I started here. They aren't my highest rated stories, but I'm attached to them. Plus it was easy to write.
