....that certain period of time where I feel lonely and miss sex.

So do you have any ideas for distraction ?
Movies, Dvd's, books, music, sports, hobbies, things to do, etc.

Just anything to keep my mind from thinking too much.

I read. Anything & everything.

It doesn't work, but it's all I got. ;)

A good book .................................... and a good toy.

A lot of work during the day. A good book, writing or watching a good movie at night.

I know how you feel :(

Thnx guys so far. Well, I'm working my ass off right now but I'm talking about the evenings and especially about the sundays.

And I'd like to know about certain movies, books, etc. as well. Any tips?

(So you guys should realize that love-stories disqualify)

The first three Hitchhiker's Guide stories are almost completely devoid of a love story. "Long Dark Tea Time for the Soul" by Douglas Adams as well also is missing a love story.

The following Terry Pratchett books feature no love stories: "The Last Continent" "Interesting Times" "Eric" "Small Gods" "Hogfather"

There's a couple of good anime with no romantic subplot but they'd be in English or English subtitles. A few nominations though would be "Kino's Journey" (also known as "The Beautiful World"), "Ghost in the Shell", "Grave of the Fireflies", "Serial Experiments: Lain", "Haibane Renmai"

Bradbury and Poe are two other authors who were light on romantic subplots. If you haven't yet read one of their books or short stories, do so. They'll also have the bonus of changing your mood significantly from affairs of the heart.

If all else fails, just jack yourself off until its raw.

P.S. My advice may sound light-hearted and formulaic, but I do understand the tide of emotion when you start thinking like Keitaro, "I wish I had a girlfriend". Usually I go for deep imersion for my therapy, but then I'm the type that blasts metal to calm down and will become calmer if you punch me a few times. Anyway, good luck.

Some great suggestions from LC, but I would just add the general warning that "Grave of the Fireflies" will break your heart. It is wonderful. No romance to be had. Very well done, but it is not a happy thing. :(

Yeah, there is that, but it would definitely be a distractant. You'd have an entirely different sort of despair/all-consuming-thought on your mind than your love life and that sort of thing can at least burn up one day and possibly more.
