Not to totally rock out when you hear 'Cum On Feel The Noize' by Quiet Riot. I could be at my worst and that song would make me get up and dance.

Now, hijack this thread please.

You are sick.

I'm afraid Quiet Riot doesn't do it for me.

Put on 'Anarchy in the U.K.' or 'Pretty Vacant' by The Sex Pistols and I'll relive my punk days.

And middle aged white guys can't pogo.

AC/DC's "You Shook Me All Night Long" does that for me.

*snicker*
Recently I saw some middle aged punk rockers walking around at the shopping mall. I wanted to run up and hug them.:)

edited to add:Yes, Carson, I know I'm sick, Sub Joe already told me that and you know how well-adjusted he is. It has to be true.

Shit RG, I couldn't Pogo when I was 18. At least not without getting into trouble. (Then again that kind of trouble was fun at 18, maybe that's why I always went out.)

Also love that song :)

A lot of songs do that for me, way too many to list.. But the one that does it best is "Wild Nights" by Van Morrison.

Damnit, rgraham, how long were you going to hide your closet punkdom?

God, I love those boys. They're on permanent rotation in the car collection. Although it's amusing to realize that one is both the person with "Anarchy in the UK" blasting out of the stereo and the only one with the civility to heed the pedestrian crossing.

I'm so conflicted.

Shanglan

(P.S. The one song that completely does it for me right now is "Skinhead on the MBTA" by the Dropkick Murphies. Try, rg - you might like. That or nearly anything by the Pogues.)

Nickleback
Figured you out...
the opening line grabbed me and wont let go...

"I like your pants around your feet"

hook, line, sinkah!
*clench*

Sigh, this is where I have to admit to head-banging to "Metal Health (Bang your Head)" as well, right?

Sigh, Quiet Riot has to be the worst metal or rock band on the face of the planet, but those two songs are bizarrely addicting.

Ultimate pick-up song though is "Don't Worry About the Government" by Talking Heads. It has such a cynically perky happy tune that you can't help but sway happily to it and sing along.

Only head bangin' I did in my youth was my noggin against a headboard. :D

Now, if you wanna talk about "Rock Lobster" and "Private Idaho" -- I'm your gal.

Sadly, I have a young cousin who has no idea what good punk rock is. At Christmas time she was tlaking about Green Day as if they were some revolutionary rebellious rock band and not the corporate hack wannabees that they are. I told her to get a copy of London Calling by The Clash. Her response was along the lines of, "but that's old music."

"Kid," I said, "good rock is timeless"

Famous RnR screams that do it for me:
Kevin Dubrow on Metal Health
Roger Daltrey on Won't Get Fooled Again
Brian Johnson on For Those About To Rock

As facts are few
and far between
Hypothesys defies
All logic as to
What precisely
led to her demise
For what appears
Shear grandiosity
No legacy remains
Except her crumbling ruins
on which these words
were found engraved

Politzania, Politzania
Long live politzania

Politzania, Politzania
God save Politzania

Now these ancient Politzanians
As far as archeologists could trace
Had most thoroughly convinced themselves
They were a superior race.
Quite rediculous notion, granted.
However, if we assume
Her sister rivals rose to
Quell such monsterous claims
I most humbly submit
it has never been
more satisfactorily explained

Politzania, Politzania
Long live Politzania

Politzania, Politzania
God save Politzania

Now, those citizens who questioned,
those suspect harborous of doubt
Were brought before a panel
of the Ministry of Health.
They were questioned
and exphaligrammed
until rendered quite insane
And when in accorance
with the laws
The reposessed their brains.

Politzania, Politzania
Long live politzania

Politzania, Politzania
God save Politzania

Dancing bananaba to anyone who can identify that song or the band that recorded it in the 70s.
