I don't support any of what is happening in Los Angeles right now.
I don't support the Gestapo-style roundup of peaceful, law abiding people, which is what fueled this nightmare. (I DO support the roundup of violent criminals who are in the U.S. illegally, but THAT IS NOT WHAT STARTED THIS.)
I don't support rioters looting and burning and provoking a response. This plays right into the hands of the critics who want a Gestapo-styled police state.
I don't support the militarization of the Guard or the Marines against civilians, even though that is probably necessary given what is going on. But that seems so eerily Orwellian; so, well, Communist.
I don't support the protesters waving flags of countries OTHER than the United States. Don't these people WANT to be in the United States? Shouldn't they support OUR flag, OUR country, that they claim to want to belong to so badly? They certainly are making it hard for the average American to sympathise with their cause. This plays right into the hands of the critics who call these people an "invasion."
I don't support the grandstanding of either the L.A. Mayor, the California governor, or the acting federal executive, who are all cynically using the tragedy to score political points. This reminds me oddly of Emperor Palpatine's scheme. And BOTH SIDES ARE DOING THIS!!
And finally, I don't support the media who are fanning the flames of anger and protest. Fox News, MSNBC. BOTH SIDES ARE DOING THIS.
And I don't support any of it. Not at all.
That is all.
