I don't like to be outright about certain things, and showing off my AV is one of those things. This is a self indulging thread, and I am a bit uncomfortable about that, but because I don't have much time to post tonight, I want to share this with you.

I just finished making my AV. I've been working on it since about 5 o'clock, and now that it is done, I am fucking psyched!

I made this dress yesterday, and it is my favorite dress ever. I waited for 6 months to get this fabric on sale, and it was so very much worth the wait.

I love the way this AV turned out. This is the real me. This is STARFISH when she is herself.

The sage represents my love of all things natural and the wisdom I behold in nature, and that which I hope to gain in life and the lantern sybolizes the light of hope that burns in me. The dress is just ME. I love it, I love it, I love it!!!!!!!

Now that I put in the appropreate background and lit my lantern, I decided I will be adding a few other things to the pic to cover what I am about. That will be done later today.

I've never had an AV that felt so comfortable.

I hope you like it too.

:D

Here is the largest version, but alas, the only one that would fit is the one in the AV spot.

COOL, Starryfish!! I'm glad you have an av you like so much. :)

Me Too! :)

I am going to do those Gretchicons soon too. If you don't know what that is about, I had the idea to make facial expression icons of my face, and using them as 'smilies', but I have the problem of 'how' to link to them. I am going to have to deal with hotlinking them and that will be annoying.
:p < I was soooo very excited about doing one of these!

Very Nice Starfish...makes me want a dress like that. You're very talented.

I've managed to clean it up a little, hope you like it...but either way.....YOU ROCK STARFISH ;)

As someone who can't sew a stitch to save her life, I am beyond impressed.

Well done! :)

Thanks lil freak, Outty and Myst. I really love that one.... but now...... I am Happier than ever!!

I had an small idea hit me from your making it sharper and seeing it with the blue background.

I took that one and made the new one in my AV slot.

This one is even better in my opinion. It is more Lantern appropriate.

AHHHH! Life is good. :)

(edit...... Thank you Kitten eyes. I have been sewing for a long ass time though, so I attribute it to experiance and I am a freak for classicalism. )

I'd give his left one.

Fishy - it's wonderful. I love it. You should start your own business..

Starfish, being a fellow sewer (is that a word?) I think that is so beautiful but I need more details girl!!!!!!.........................like what kind of material is it..what does it feel like , the texture and color. These are things I NEED to know. I used to work in a fabric store but had to quit because I was going broke. I love material and all the possibilities that it holds.

Thank you for sharing with us.

Thank you all so much for the compliments.

Adoratrice, YEEEEEEEHAAAWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!
That is so cool... You are a fellow seamstress (technically) but sewer is better in my book. :)

This fabric is a synthetic blend. It is very very sheer... Here is a close up pic of this fabric for you to see.
It has a high sheen and is very hard to sew with, as most sheer fabric is. It runs easy too, but this wasn't too bad.

I just used some satin ribbon as straps and the shall is just a 2 yard cut of fabric with the edges finished. The waist is drawn up by hemp cording, so the dress was made too long, so that it would be the perfect length once drawn up under my boobies.

I didn't use a pattern for this dress because it was very simple, but I don't rely on patterns much either way. I try to 'create' my own designs, and as Angel said, I should go into business, but I am so into Ecology for a career choice, that I don't know if I am willing to compromise my studies and work in that.

If I could sew a dress a week, then I could make a go of it after some time.
Before I get into that.... I want to make Angel's dress and make her take Pics of herself in it to share.

Anyway, here is the pic.. I now want to go take a pic of all of my fabric to share with you.. ( I could go into debt because of fabric too)
:)

I agree.

That's what I thought of it when I saw it, and that is why I was inclined to buy it.....

That, and (check this out......)

It was 9 dollars a yard, and I got it for.... 3.29 a yard plus tax!!!!!!
This dress has 4 and a half yards of fabric in it.....

It cost me under 20 buckeroos!!!!!!!

I love clearance time!!!!!!! Whooo HOOO!!

:)
