Some times I glance over the General Board, though I rarely have anything to talk about there. Through my wanderings I've realized some things:
1. The BDSM boards are slower than the General Boards, therefore easier for me to keep track of.
I'm not online too often these days and following a thread on the GB normally requires too much involvement.
To me the BDSM boards move slower because the people here don't post just because they can. Yes there's thread hijacks and parodies, but not like on the GB.
2. There are less trolls on the BDSM boards. Yes we get them occasionally, but for the most part the people here choose to ignore them instead of fueling their fire.
It seems the people on the GB just want to have a place and a reason to argue so they do at every chance that might peek around the corner at them.
3. The people here on the BDSM boards are more than willing to share their experiences no matter how often somebody does a topic that has already been discussed. They also will help search through the archives for thread topics already discussed to help people get as much of an answer as they need. I've seen countess "Noob wondering what BDSM is threads" and every response I've seen is warm and welcoming.
I remember my first days here on the board. I remember my first post, it was a thread questioning about homage. I remember getting some wonderful responses from the people here at the BDSM boards. It seems like the only way to get accepted on the GB is to pick who you're going to agree with and argue with any body who disagrees with them. It's to tough to follow, and often very affending.
This is just my way of saying thank you to all the people here on the BDSM boards for making this a wonderful community!
