please tell me if this is true...

I'm sure I heard yesterday that The Young Pretender had blamed the entire Arab Nation for the present flare up between Israel and Palestine.

Did it happen?

Was it a dream?

Was I drunk?

Please...please tell me that he's now angered every Arab that's walking the face of the earth.

Oh George what would we do without you!

maybe

The world news wasn't on tonight (you know - golf, little league, etc.), so I missed it. But it would be typical for him to say that in a fit of pique. What you need to know: W just wants the whole thing to go away. He's seen Adminstrations fail to achieve much there for his entire life, knows that it's really hitting the fan, and sees no advantage in getting involved. But with the US bankrolling Israel, we ARE involved. And with the US being the unchallenged power, we are expected to try to sort things out. And with he and Cheney being stooges of the oil companies, a repeat of the oil embargo would leave him wealthier but tarnished. He thought that by chastising the Arabs, he'd curry favor with voters here. Cheney already blessed the copter-and -missile assassination campaign, just as the State Dept. was trying to discourage it. It's certainly a total and dangerous mess, getting worse, and the worst leader possible is going to try to suck some votes out of it while he prays that the whole region falls into a hole.

Like everything else? Don't you sometimes get the feeling that he wishes there was no-one else around but him?

I caught a glimpse of him on TV the other night and he's definitely getting that Prince Charles "Hell, I'm too confused to think" look!

:)

well, yeah

If you were that stupid, illiterate, and uninformed, and you became the world's most powerful man, could you take other people very seriously? I know I'd have boundless contempt for the whole lot, thinking I was the master manipulator. I think he's operating in a scary zone of near madness: Knowing so little, he might as well believe what he's saying - when he remembers what he's saying. He's like a bad actor with charm. And he's got this little idea about starting an epochal arms race with the Chinese (among other "thoughts"). He truly makes Reagan look like responsible.

Like I said before, Israel is going to reach a point with the Palestinians and say "that's it - everyone out of the pool."

It's going to be ug-ly.

Can you put a lid on the rhetoric and talk facts?

"Stupid, illiterate..." jeeez, man.

Reckon you could be right. Then it's going to be another split between America and Europe over policy...

If the USA continues it's support of Israel by supplying arms and aid whilst Europe comes down further into the Palestinian/Arab camp our two continents are going to have some more harsh words to say to each other.

It only seems a short time ago that we were all travelling in the same direction...

:(
