If you have a hard time understanding why we protect animals who lack the ability to protect themselves and certainly didn't make a choice not to have children and women who for varying reasons (financial) don't want to bring a child into this world, well that's on you. Its not my fault nor anybody else on this board that you don't understand basic things.
It was one specific pesticide and later science has been muddled at best as to the amount of damage it did and how much good it could have done if we had handled things a little differently.

I'll take your word for it though with Global Warming its entirely possible that their range was just shifted. Besides the DDT ban was effectively global and I'd rather third world countries risk a bit of the local fauna if it means not getting insect born diseases. I'd work tirelessly for better solutions but I'm not sacrificing those poor people who are dying because I'm worried about some bird or lizard or rat.
