but the collegiate edition is the accepted one...

then there's always OED

btw, does universal only give the one definition?:)

Ooops... I think Ange clicked the wrong button again...

Does this mean we're gonna have another 'Ignore Me' thread hanging around for the next couple of months?

I was wondering last night what this thread was about.

So... should we post poems in this thread?

Oh, you little coward. You started it! You keep tempting us with these.... these... non-threads!!!

I believe you!
... but in college I learnt
not to listen to my heart!

I define you?
... but does your universe
only give you one meaning?

I accept you.
... but then there's always
my ADD.

Voyeur's Disbelief

I don't believe you
or the man down the street
trying hard to be discreet,
saying "not I" with glance away eyes,
but I've seen through cold windows
and heard on midnight breezes -
when reaction freezes on my thighs -
truth that warms the way back to my bed.

my contribution

Elda! so good to see you. Where have you been?

er, on second thought, we probably all know, and the
pure and uncorrupted amongst us shouldn't hear the details :D

(One of my favorite charities is poor orphaned threads)
Any accountants in the crowd who can tell me how to reflect this charitable contribution on my taxes ?

As a matter of fact, I am an accountant. And your generosity is overwhelming.

I even wrote an accountant haiku.

OT's Generosity

My giving poet,
the IRS needs some soul
but only takes blood.

May all your deductions be allowed,

Cordelia

Now what's a poet to do?
When advised by accountant haiku.
Should he file and try?
And when the auditor asks why
Plead the muse was the source of the skew?
