Specifically I'm looking for games featuring Kunio-kun (He's known as Alex in the game River City Ransom).

There have been two Arcade games, 11 Famicom (NES) games, 7 Game Boy games
and 5 Super Famicom games. There have been also ports done for the PC Engine,
Mega Drive and the X68000 (a 16-bit Japanese PC). Not to mention the Neo-Geo
version of Super Dodgeball.

I do know one was called " Downtown Special " .

This is all I could find :

Arcade
Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-Kun

GameBoy
Kunio-Kun no Jidaigeki dayo Zenin Shuugou
_ Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-Kun
_ Nekketsu! Beach Volley dayo Kunio-Kun
NES
Kunio-Kun no Jidaigeki dayo Zenin Shuugou
_ Kunio-Kun no Nekketsu Soccer League
_ Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-Kun
Super Nintendo
Kunio no Oden
_ Kunio Tachi no Banka
_ Kunio-Kun no Dodge Ball Dayo Zenin Shuugo
_ Shin Nekketsu Kouha: Kunio Tachi no Banka
_ Shodai Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-Kun
Xbox
Yonenaga Kunio no Shogi Seminar

Trivia
This game was so popular in Japan that several spinoffs and sequels were made in Japan (mostly for the Nintendo Famicom and the Super Famicom). One of these games was Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari which is the Japanese version of the NES cult hit River City Ransom.

"Nekketsu" is a Japanese word that translates into "Hot Blood." It is also the name of the school where the main character studies (Nekketsu Koukou). "Kouha" literally translates to "tough elements," and "Kun" is a suffix that is often used for young men (it doesn't mean "Mr." as some people might tell you).

Kunio was named after Technos Japan's president, Kunio Taki.

Which one? Or do you mean both?

Incidentally, the stuff Silverveil came up with is about all I was able to find.

Most of the games seem to have only been released in Japan. And any info I could find on them were all in Japanese. :(

I am sure there are NES fans out there that are also import fans. Like I said ... I might be able to find some more out but it would take a few days. There are a lot of shops online and retail that can special order import games for you. But you have to be sure you have a system that can play them.

( Which if you are the gamer geek I know you are .... you already are aware of this simple fact )
