...in this years Candy Cane crop.

Just cause you only charge like 50 cents a box you think you can make them sub standard? It should NOT be chewy, it should NOT be deformed!

A proper candy cane should be hard as a rock such that you can get a razor sharp point on the end that could actually kill someone.

and right now I feel like killing someone...

Think you could suck PepperminTrish's legs into razor sharp points? Wouldn't you like to try?

Who am I talking to?

Sounds like you got last years supply of candy canes.

Attention all visitors!

Candy Canes have now been place on the Contraband list at the Bexar County housing facility.
Anyone found w/said item/(s) will be subject to full body-cavity searches, to be conducted at my house, taped before a live studio audience.

-Thank you-

Well, Jerseyboy, this year's crop did suffer, what with the heavy rains and the hotter than normal temperatures. Plus there was a nasty round of the c. canus beetle which did a number on Candy Cane fields all over the country.

Why the RMA had to lower the price per bushel at the end of the growing season due to just that off-softness you describe. If you check the actuarial tables for counties all over the country (Click for County Actuarial Tables) you'll see that irrigated candy cane in all planting patterns had increased risk assigned to them this year.

It was really very sad for all the Candy Cane farmers in the nation. Hopefully next year's crop will be better.

Ermm. Remind me not to head south.

I don't know, Jersey. I like my current selection of candy canes. They are hard, and if you suck on them correctly, you can get a nice fine, sharp point. OK, I know how that sounds..:D

You west coasters must get them nice and fresh...how about a care package? hmm? please? barter? name it...

Nora: This is not good news...Didn't Larry King just have one of the impovrished Cane farmers on?

I understand that the Candy Cane crop in Finland this year was amazing.

Canes an inch thick or better with perfect crooks.

Can anyone say "Import"?

Yeah, but then you're knocking the legs out of our homegrown Candy Cane farmers. I mean, they'll do ok with reinsurance and everything, but they'd still rather bring in a good crop and get a good price for it.

BOYCOTT FOREIGN CANDY CANES! SUPPORT AMERICAN CANDY CANE FARMS!

Very well, you can enjoy this year's thin , mishappen, chewey produce....

Or you can enjoy the quality that can only be found in northern europe ;)

It's freekin oversupply and underdemand. I mean, I love buying the after xmas overstocked Candy cane boxes at 10 for a buck...but...they have gone overboard and it has led to diminishing quality control.

Too many colors....too many flavors...lets get back to the basics folks!

Starburst candy canes...bah!

I heard that. Save the fruit flavors for the summer :p
then find a different shape already.

Keep your thick, hard, perfectly-crooked FOREIGN canes! I'm buying American! Yes, soggy, sticky, misshapen as they be, they're a proud symbol of America's Heartland!

(ok, I work in an ag-related field and I know I'm gonna be giggling about this all day. Wouldn't it be fun to hack the RMA's website and add a candy cane crop to every county, complete with special provisions?)

Oh look, with some patient attention to detail I've managed to put a nice rounded point on this one....

Still not interested?

*surveys you expectantly*

Well, I do beleive that's the first time anyone has ever mentioned sucking my legs into razor sharp points! It doesn't sound nearly as fun as sucking candycanes does to me.
;)
