I Am Trying To Reset My Password So I Can Write Stories Again, But Having Problems.

I have been trying to reset my password for this site so I can write stories again.

However, I am having problems. Whenever I click on "Forgot Password" and have a password reset message sent to my e-mail, I get a link that takes me back to the "Login or Register" page. What gives? Why can't I reset my password so I can start writing again.

If anyone is involved with this sort of thing on this particular site that reads these posts on the message/bulletin board, please help me so I can rest my password as far as writing stories goes so I can start writing again. is there a way for me to reset my password as far as the writing goes so I won't keep getting the link to take me to the "Login or Register" page?

Any help and answers are appreciated. Thanks so much in advance.

I'm having the same problem. I've read many posts on the subject and followed the advice suggested on the posts. Sent e-mails and private messages. Created this account to discuss. I've been on the other side of this and seen web masters get frustrated with people like me but something is borked. Hopefully the powers that be that can help are busy getting it on after reading all the exciting stories and they'll get to it soon. But I hear your frustration.

I've been having the same problem for months. I have DMed, posted and filled out the help form. I've pulled up the browser console and send what it says. I've tried a different computer entirely. I've even tried creating a new account, but the verification code failed. Are new members joining?

I'm having the same exact issue! I can't get anyone to respond to me on the matter either. I'm getting really frustrated. I want to continue to post new stories under my original account, but it's starting to look bad. Why is no one in charge responding to this issue?

Because the site is free basically. Someone else writes the software and the guys who manage the site bought it. Have you noticed sometimes when searching for stories the whole interface looked different? This software is old. And they are lucky to keep it updated enough to run as good as it does.

sorry but thats the way that it is. the chat site has mostly been converted the story story site is about halfway id say but exactly .....the only people that know are the ones working on it. then well see if they get the discussion board converted which has as many problems as the rest of it ... but who knows?

think about it there used to be as many as 6’600 people here at once and I’ll bet thats just the discussion board. there were 7-800 on it a while ago. software gets old. it doesn't work as well with newer operating systems. things constantly change. why do they change? People need to make money and thats how new software engineers make it. if you don't like it wait a while things will change.

Actually, I had the same issue a few weeks ago when I returned to the site after a two year break and forgot my password. Tried the "forgot password" link and got sent back to the login page by the link in the email indeed. However, then I remembered what my password was after a few tries and luckily haven't had to deal with the password recovery.

I get that this is a volunteer site, and I'm glad they are doing upgrades, but I've been unable to login to the story side for months. I've posted, DM'ed, everything. I've been able to give some feedback by watching the browser console. I even tried creating a new account, but that failed as well.

I volunteer to run websites as well, and I know first hand how difficult it is to keep up when problems come in, but a quick post that they see the problem and are trying things would help.

I wonder how many people may have gone away from any interest in this site if they cannot sign up or log on.
