It's the first day of my vacation that I haven't had any commitments, and I have accomplished absolutely nothing aside from downloading porn, posting here, and masturbating.

My apartment needs to be straightened up, I have plants that need to be tended to, laundry needs to be put away, I need to run errands, I wanted to bake cookies and send them to a few people I promised a long time ago, yet I haven't done any of those things yet. I say to myself, "I'll do it all tomorrow".

It hasn't been a bad day; in fact, it's been a pretty good day. It's just that I have other things I should be doing.

Mellon, I work best under pressure myself. However, no one is breathing down my neck or giving me a deadline as to when all this shit has to be done. My apartment gets cleaned or straightened usually when I know someone is coming over.

I need to get my ass in gear....

Don't worry. I'm on vacation at home, too, and here I am reading posts and stories wishing I could magically throw myself into many of those situations. Things like cleaning up and baking are always going to be there to do every single day. It's not like you can finish them once and then have a real feeling of lasting accomplishment. Spending a good part of your life in fantasy land never hurt anybody- it makes you more alive and vibrant than the shlumps who center their lives and energy around clearing up their never-ending to-do lists. I have to beat off 2 or 3 times a day because I have a spouse who is too busy working or cleaning or paying bills, even though we both just did most of that shit the day before. It's like a never-ending cycle, like hampsters on a treadmill. After awhile, I just have to get out of the house and get in my car and get it up to 100 mph to make sure I'm fucking alive.

Now I have to straighten up my apartment because I have someone coming over tomorrow for "lunch". I guess it's as good an incentive to clean as any.
