This afternoon my wife and I decided to check out a Butchers Shop. We have been hearing about this place from friends in work and today was the day to investigate.
AS soon as we walked in I knew I was going to like this place. The smells coming from the back room were incredible.
The first thing we did was have lunch from their Hot Food Bins. KnockWurst cooked with mild almost sweet SourKraut. Talk about a taste sensation.
Then I started shopping. More than a pound of home made Bratwurst and another pound of Home Made Liverwurst went into the basket. (No we're not talking about the over salted Pate you buy in the local grocery store. This is the gritty real stuff.)
RingWurst, Fleischwurst, LeberKasse, HandKasse.
We had samples every step of the way. Oh man I was in heaven.
The owner of the Butcher shop endeared me to him by making small sandwiches to sample the Liverwurst. Hard rolls with a bit of Liverwurst and some thin sliced onion.
This evening we of course had Bratwurst for dinner. Home made Bratwurst accompanied by a very mild Kraut and heavy, thick crusted Rye Bread.
I can barely move.
