This is pretty strange. You can't offend 'the AH,' anyway, it's not human. A set of computer instructions, merely; and the posters here seem entirely nonplussed, so you haven't offended any of them, either. In both senses, 'the AH' hasn't noticed any offense of any sort. Makes it wicked simple to forgive, though, which is all to the good.

I too absolve you utterly.

About forgiveness? Paradoxically, to ask someone to forgive is to ask them to indulge themselves. Forgiveness benefits the merciful more than it does the offender.

If I've forgiven someone, it means, in essence, there's one thing I'll never have to fret about again. So I get that relief. Carrying a grudge is a lot of effort, so I've saved myself some work. And notice, that's just the benefit I get from forgiving! Psychologically, I am placed in a position of power if I'm asked to forgive: I can do it, or I can withhold it; it means I have influence over another, if only for a moment. So besides the salutary effect of forgiving, I get the ego boost of acknowledged power from being asked.

If the fellow I forgive is my enemy, then it pisses him off, besides! It's just too great, man. Forgive all day long, whenever you can.

I was thinking about what someone could do to actually offend the AH. I came up clueless.
