I am ready this year

Okay, I'm ready for the 4th of July down here in Southern Florida.

I know what is going to happen, it happens every year. It has already started. People are firing off their fireworks on a nightly basis. This year I am ready, we have our plans.

Our first stop of the evning will be a local Chinese Restaraunt we have heard rave reviews about. From there we will head to downtown West Palm Beach for their Fourth on Flagler celebration. From there we will make our way home. There we will listen to the locals setting off their crackers and screamers until the wee hours and we become tired.

It will be at this time I will break out my private stash. These were created by a friend of mine and are the equivalent of Artillery Simulators used by the military. We are talking some very big bangs. This should be amusing. This should truly wake up the neighborhood. (Maybe I should sav some for about five tomorrow morning when their hangovers are at their worst?)

There's been fireworks in our neighborhood since Saturday night. It's been so repetitive that the cat's even used to them.

I have a skid pad set up. It is one foot wide by four feet long. On this I have mounted the canisters for the Bangers.

I will set this out on the side walk, detonate the bangers then pull it in to a hiding place alongside my trailer. (This fits between two of the shrubs edging my property and the main road.)

Cloudy, most of the fireworks going of down here have been Bottle Rockets and screamers. It is almost impossible to get the bigger bangers. (They are illegal to own and set off.)

Some people have the occasional Lady fingers. One or two have the occasional Cherry Bomb or M-80.

What I have are closer to demolition devices.

Well my wife and I, after looking at the local weather and the local radar decided to skip the usual Street Festival and went out to dinner.

It was raining lightly when we went into the restaraunt but pouring when we came out. I was happy I had thought to bring an Umbrella with me. (I went out and go the car, pulling it under the portico so my wife could stay dry.)

The Fireworks were canceled.

About an hour after we got home the rain stopped and the local fireworks started up. It got loud enough that we couldn't hear the TV. I decided it was time to set off some of my bangers. I set up three of them on the skid and placed this on the sidewalk out front. I watched and waited as the locals were really getting into it. The only trafic on the road was sporadic and mainly Police.

During a lul in the traffic I triggered the ignitors and waited. I had set them up to go off about a minute apart. The first went off and car alarms were triggered. All was quiet for a few seconds but it soon became loud again. The second went off with the customary blast and strobe effect. All was quiet for a short while then it started up again. I could hear sirens in the distance but that wasn't a worry. The third one went off with the same blast and everything was quiet as I pulled the skid back behind my place. Then the sirens started again.

It took almost half an hour before the firecrackers started up again.

I have already set up several more. These are set to go off at 30 second intervals. I have also set my alarm for 0400. I figure this should allow them to get into their nice deep sleep before I set them off.

I have a couple more. Maybe I should set one of at about 0600.

These should make those hangover shaken brains twinge.
