Disappointment is more related to desires which you can't turn into reality.

You can't get rid of needs. They have to be acknowledged and taken care of.

Desires, on the other hand, can be set aside. Not all desires are realisable. What is it you desire when you are with your wife? To what extent is the realisation of the desire dependent upon her? Does she share the same desire? Have you talked to her about your desires. Have you asked her to talk about her desires?
