I am in a pickle - ex-GF is Pregnant

This is a mess. We went our separate ways some weeks back, and now she tells me she is pregnant. She wants to split the cost of the abortion with me. I told her no. I told her "It's your body. You and you alone can make decisions about your body. Pay for it yourself."

She freaked.

If this is all about the money you should make a spreadsheet.

You pay 50% of a the bill vs. she has the baby and you pay child support for 18 years.

Shouldn't be too hard to figure it out.

I won't say it didn't happen, because something similar did happen to me. This was before Lit existed, but I would not have brought the problem here. In my case it worked out well for everybody. She wasn't really pregnant.

If it did happen, she is fortunate to find out what kind of man you are before making a decision which will effect both of your lives and possibly for the rest of your lives.

If you're a "fiscal conservative" then why didn't you own up to your own costs associated with making the decision to have unprotected sex? You engaged in a partnership which resulted in a pregnancy. You say you don't believe in making other people pay for your decisions. You should pay up 50% the cost of the abortion, regardless of her ability to afford it on her own.

The fact that she is a "fiscal/social liberal" is non sequitur to your responsibility to act based on your own self-proclaimed value system...

I disagree. Her body, her decision, her responsibility. All women, before having sex with any man, must realize that it's her body. And by having sex, she is taking a risk and is ultimately responsible for the abortion (if she so chooses that rout).

It is akin to a parking ticket. If I convince my GF (or a buddy) to park in a spot that has a No Parking sign, and that results in a parking ticket, I am not responsible for the ticket. Her car, her choice to park there, etc.

1. So, I was right. (Easy call.)

2. "Your momma" fits right in with the calibre of the rest of your humor today.

Haven't you learned anything from your buddies on here? People like them and yourself shouldn't try to be funny. Stick to just being bad at politics. ;)

No. You were not right.

How, exactly, are you in a pickle? Lols

Paying for an abortion is not a big deal.

A bit of cash = nothing.

From your post I get that you are unhappy, spiteful and think somehow you're teaching her a lesson.

I lol'd.

Seriously.

:D

The reasons to step up to the plate and pay for half:
Personal responsibility.
Integrity.

It's a convenient excuse to say "It's her body." And that is what it is, an excuse. No, you don't have to pay your half, it's just the right thing to do.

You participated. She made an error, but so did you. Where was your protection?

At some point in your life, if you grow emotionally, this will be one of those situations that you will regret. It will make you feel bad because you are less of a person because of it. You will always think about the child that might have been, just as she will.

You are smarmy. Not that an internet person's opinion makes a difference. The only one whose opinion matters in evaluating what type of person you are is you even though you don't seem to be a person with much personal insight.

Make your excuse. You have a penis, but you are no man.

Know what would suck? Creating some obviously bullshit story in a lame attempt to debunk something like Women's Lib, and only succeeding in making yourself look like the biggest douchebag ever.

I can't imagine.

Yes. That would suck. You know, you have a hard on for me. don't know why though. I've been nothing but nice to you. Don't you have a set of balls to lick (you're a dog, right?)

...because no one ever drives all alone. Alternatively, because women get pregnant without sperm all the time.

Pick one or both.

Becoming an accomplice in the murder of an innocent unborn child is a matter of "integrity?" Wow, just wow. I feel kind of sick to my stomach to even believe someone would put something like that in writing.

PSW, please do anything in your power to dissuade this gal from murdering your beautiful child. Any child is a miracle, and nobody has a moral right to take its life.

Suppose you never speed. Never. Then one day your GF/Wife/SO convinces you to speed. They say "You wont get a ticket."

Then you get a ticket. It's clear that you never speed, but did so in this case. Who is to blame?

Driving a car doesn't require input from anyone but the driver.

Getting pregnant does.

So glad you brought this up!

See, I have this thing called integrity. Having integrity means I don't let douchebag commentary slide just because someone's been nice to me previously on here.

(I know: for many of you, this is a foreign concept. Read the above paragraph again, let it sink in, learn it, love it...but, alas, few of you will.)

Fair enough.

There was no hesitation at all before posting this? No "crap, that's fucking dumb and makes no sense" kick-in? I actually feel a little sorry for you.

(It still might make my sig.)

Yes. I think having a child should always be a choice. They have already made theirs. It takes a great deal of integrity to raise a child. Some people shouldn't. If they recognize it, all the better. But that's another discussion just as your comments are.

Did she and you split the cost of condoms?

You are not supposed to pay for the abortion if you paid the condoms alone.

Pornstar, it takes two, two to have sex. Yes, it's her body and her decision let a loser fuck her. Bad choice on her part, no doubt.

But your cock was also involved (I assume that's where your brain is located.) Your cock, your decision to pump her full of your seed. Coulda wore a rubber, dude. You are responsible for where you deposit your load.

By having unprotected sex with a fertile female you took a risk. Ultimately the responsible for what you stick your dick in belongs entirely to you. For instance, if you stuck your dick in a meat grinder would it be entirely the meat grinder's fault if it made a little baby hamburger? Or might you share in some responsibility for becoming the dickless father of hamburger patty?

As for the car analogy. It's true that if you convince someone to do something illegal, they'll take the rap for it, but that doesn't mean you acted as a moral agent. In fact, your cynicism is reprehensible. Besides, it cuts both ways. You "convinced" her to fuck a loser and she "convinced" to do so without the usual precautions...Both guilty.

A better analogy is a 50/50 business partnership. You and your ex formed a partnership to have sex. She got banged up. You both share equal blame and you should foot half the bill.

And you call yourself a fiscal conservative? Pluuuuuze!

Wow, that was a lot. You made some good points, and I am feeling more like a dick as time goes on. I am a fiscal conservative though. But that is neither here nor there. Just say'n

What if you had given her a sexually transmitted disease (instead of banging her up) and she wanted you to help her pay the bill for the cure?

What would a "fiscal conservative" do? Tell her to fuck off, it's her body, her responsibility?

Did either of you ever think about birth control, you dumb fuck?

Or do you figure abortion is the same as birth control.......?.....

Something strange is going on here. I'd always heard a woman can't get pregnant by fucking her boyfriend in the ass.
