I'm into hour 23 without sleep. Seven more to go. I've become particularly aware of the nerve endings on my arms. I'm recalling the time I brewed coffee once with caffeinated water.

I'm staring into empty space, and it's moving.

I'm a chronic insomniac, and though usually the medication I'm on helps, lately I've been having trouble getting to sleep. It's usually not that much of a problem. I work at home, set my own hours, etc. so whenever I sleep doesn't matter. This weekend I'm visiting with family, so I need to kind of be awake when normal people are, hence self-torture!

No, no. Good coffee. The coffee is my friend. It is the black blood of life.

Damn. I thought I was doing well whittling it down to twice a year.

Fortunately, my family only really qualifies as normal in the sleep-schedule sense. I'm looking forward to the visit. I'm a little worried about that big glowing thing in the sky, though. I'm not used to seeing it.
