One flesh, one mind,
One race, one soul,
One light, many reflections

The angry man,
Lives in an angry world.
The sad man,
Lives in a sad world.
The Living One,
Lives in eternity.

Are you a God?
NO.
Are you a saint?
NO.
Then what are you?
I AM AWAKE.

One flesh, one mind,
One race, one soul,
One light, many reflections.

All that we are,
Is all that we have thought.
It is founded on thought.
It is based on thought.
All that we are,
Is all that we have thought.

Are you a God?
NO.
Are you a saint?
NO.
Then what are you?
I AM AWAKE.

One flesh, one mind,
One race, one soul,
One light, many reflections.

And I was all ready to post a good morning / afternoon / evening to you! LOL

Great poem BTW.

Thank you for sharing.

I especially liked this part.
"All that we are,
Is all that we have thought.
It is founded on thought.
It is based on thought.
All that we are,
Is all that we have thought. "

Thanks. Song actually - I write diffently when I'm doing lyrics then when I'm doing poetry - it has to fit the music, of course.

The part you liked are the words of Buddha. "All that we are is the result of what we have thought. If a man speaks or acts with an evil thought, pain follows him. If a man speaks or acts with a pure thought, happiness follows him, like a shadow that never leaves him."

Its not a new piece. I wrote it years ago for a band I was playing with. The other day I was going through my files and found it. And it fit my mood tonight so I thought I'd share it. Unfortunately I don't have a good recording of it, just some rehearsal tapes. Perhaps I will record it soon.

Do you write the lyrics first?
Music first and fit lyrics to music?
Or does it all come at once?

Debbie :)

(Curious)

It depends... sometimes one, sometimes the other... you get different results - I like to keep things interesting and avoid falling into patterns.

Today, while on the surface I appear awake, I am actually half asleep (and, yes, in frog's pajamas).
